I find it ridiculous that his "news" got featured on the front page of FT86 then

We can no longer order the Monogram Series FR-S on our internal ordering system, so they are very close to being built or are already built. I expect they will hit dealer lots in Feb/Mar.

At BMW we as client advisors know every car that is in our pipeline from the moment the order is placed. We can also see all cars and options coming in on dealer trade etc as well.

It wouldn't matter much to you anyway. Who knows if Canada will get them or not.

What a lot of people don't get, is that toyota wanted to test the market. This happens with all cars. The first couple years never have all of the options. The later years get more, and eventually there is a complete redesign. You can't hate toyota for following the same pattern that every company follows. I don't regret having bought one of the first FRS that was available. It's nice to have one of the only ones in town when a car is brand new too. It's not like toyota deliberately hid things from anyone either. You always know there will be more, especially when you see options you like being sold in other markets. This is an exciting advancement of the vehicle is all.

So when do you expect delivery? Is this the same source that told you it was being built "as we speak" back in November?

Does that mean Monogram is limited production or will you be able to order more on the next monthly TVO?

Limited production. If we were able to order next month, the build option would still be available in our system and the actual order would go in at the middle of next month. I remember seeing it available to order in late Nov or early Dec but it doesn't show up in the build option as of today. It is listed in the catalog which means it was available at some point to order. For example, the LFA is still in the vehicle catalog but is no longer available to order.

The T|X Baja Tacoma is a similar special edition. They only build them during a certain time of the year. The Baja package shows up for me to build, but no price is listed which means they haven't finalized the pricing and order/build dates.

Strange to have a build date delayed. 10 Series pre-orders were delayed due to a Monroney label pricing error that took six weeks to correct, but all were built on the confirmed production date. Then they sat at the JDM port waiting for the new labels to print.

Maybe the latest round of natural disasters somewhere in the vendor chain or labor troubles delayed production.

I guess the upside is that we might be past the worst of Winter weather and road conditions that eat paint.

That's big news and the first mentioned anywhere, thanks. I wonder how many Monograms were built nationally? It could be a more exclusive model than 10 Series.

In the system, was the Monogram order an add-on package code or a different car model code?
