Making a cosmetic "special edition" car that will sell at a mild premium makes perfect marketing sense. Retooling a car that is not even two years old yet, adding a larger displacement engine or a supercharger or turbo etc. does not make good marketing sense. That is just a fact of business no matter how much boy racer wannabees want to believe otherwise.

If this is legit then the yellow will be cool. These cars look great in yellow. If they make 1500 they will sell every single one of them and Toyota will make a nice profit off of each of them.

As for being a "OP"....i am not. And if anyone would like to call my dealership and ask for the Scion manager, I will answer. Sorry if some people feel certain ways about things I have posted. I thought people would be happy to learn new info on the Release Series. That was my only intention.

No, I did not know that. I am not up on forum etiquette. I was under the assumption that OP had something to do with "trolling". Thats what I was saying I wasnt. So yes, I am the OP. Sorry for understanding the lingo.

C'mon guys, clearly the OP is excited about the FRS. Who cares if he is new to forum lingo.

Frankly none of this is news anyway. Scion's MO is launching a car, in limited colors, then making special "series" editions available in the future. They're aesthetically different, and have inexpensive add-ons, but are generally the same drivetrain and chassis. So it makes total sense that they'll do more of this with the FRS.

If any of that information turns out to be even 1/2 true I will personally make apology to you, however, until that happens I'll be very sceptic towards any posts of future FR-S/BRZ models. It's nice to dream that yellow color will indeed come to be sometime. As of right now we already had a 10 series release and 2 more "special" series in 2014? Monogram? Maybe, but this is too much don't you think?

On a side note, if Toyota does plan to upgrade the engine for '15-16 models all those special release series will be kind of a big buyers remorse don't you guys think?
