FR-S RELEASE SERIES 1.0 coming!
 

I just wanted to pass along info that was told to me by the head of SCION last week that some might find interesting.....
Towards the end of 2014, SCION will come out with the FR-S RELEASE SERIES 1.0!!

-It will have a special body kit, made ONLY just for the RELEASE SERIES.

-It will have a all new wing!

-It will be YELLOW!

-It will have color matching interior and dash trim.

-There will only be 1500 made.

-It will have a diferent head unit and sound system.


Thats all that was told to me at the SCION national meeting for managers. They showed us a picture of what it might look like, and let me tell you....it looked awsome! Lets just hope they stay true to the picture!!

Yawn... Yet another special edition..
And:
-it will still have the same power
-it will still have Prius tires.
-it will be the same quiet exhaust and wimp tips
-it will still have large gaps in the fenders
-it will still chirp
-will be heavier with the tacked on pieces
-it will cost more

If or when I can get my hands on a picture...i will post it up ASAP.
We were told the reason for not changing the rims/tires or exaust....is because they know that people will change them out anyway to personalize them. So they will be offering NEW tire and rim packages and still the Borla Exaust upgrade.

I think I'll just stay with my 2013 FR-S that's perfectly fine. Sounds like a bunch of added garbage.

Most of these "special edition" items will be made aftermarket so they aren't so special after all.

Also the whole reason I bought the FR-S so I could add the options that I want and keep the price down.

^I completely agree with this. However, I think the Release Serie is not such a bad idea from a marketing perspective. Sure, it will come with a cost. But with only 1,500 of these, I don't think they'd have a problem selling them at all. And I'd have to say that yellow is pretty cool.

With that being said, please leave out the crickets this time.
