Yeah, for a game they took more than 6 years making and got $60 of my money for. Still had horrible AI, still had horrible sound effects, still had 800 horrible looking cars, still had empty meaningless grind career, still had bland feel, still difficult to play well without a steering wheel, still lacked polish and finish. Thanks but no thanks. I'm done supporting the franchise. I don't really care what they did in 6 or what they do in the future, they've burned their bridge for me.

Your opinion. We all have them, so can't argue if that's how you feel about it. I don't share the same position however. It's not that serious either to act all up brow about it to say something is banned from my console. It's not like this is McDonald's serving meat cleansed in ammonia coming out pink and then re-died so it looks normal. |

This is tough for me, I grew up on GT games but recently Forza has been hitting it out of the park. Forza 4 was such a great game whereas GT5 was only a decent game with horrible menus.
I wish Forza 5 wasn't a launch game, the content it does have is amazing, but there's just not enough there. Another 6 months to add some more tracks and ~50 more cars and this would have been perfect. It comes across as more of technical exercise for the Xbox One than a full fledged game. The graphics in Forza 5 are astounding, youtube vids do not do this game justice, it really is "next gen". GT6 looks decidedly last gen even on the premium cars, the standard cars are ridiculously bad looking in comparison to F5. If you can get past the graphical difference then they are both quite competent racers. In Forza you're going to be sick of the tracks rather quickly, there's definitely not enough of them to keep even casual racers happy. GT6 delivers on the track count for sure. The driving mechanics are good for both games, although the Xbox One controller is a huge step up from the dualshock 3, I might have to grab a DS4 just for GT6. To me the huge library of cars in GT6 is not a plus, most are terrible looking/sounding and I waste way too much time trying to find the relatively few premium cars. Maybe ignorance is bliss and I'm spoiled by F5, but this is not a good looking game. My favorite in both series' is still Forza 4, the excellent career, the number of cars, the massive event list, the great online components. To me this was the pinnacle and while GT6 has attempted to dethrone it, it just hasn't quite gotten there. Forza 5 is simply too limited to realistically compete with either F4 or GT6 for the crown, although the graphics are simply mind blowing. In another year when we see Forza 6 I'm expecting really big things. EDIT: If anyone cares I've owned and played every single Gran Turismo and Forza game and I play no favorites to consoles. When GT7 comes out on PS4 I'll be picking one up for sure.

Why does what matter? Me wanting the car count to be cut? To me its silly to have multiple copies of the same car and some of them also be standard. It's odd to me is all hoping in one car and being greeted with an awesome interior view then getting in another to notice its blacked out. It lacks a sense of completion to me. Some of the cars are completely worthless as well. They should bring back that museum thing from GT5 and stick them in there if they want to mention some odd historical cars here and there. Those are some nits I have but they don't have an effect on me playing the game, I enjoy the game a lot just some things don't make sense and leave it feeling a little unpolished.

Ok, but that doesn't hurt your gaming play as you have mentioned. Whereas someone who might want to drive those cars, won't have the opportunity to, if you were making the decisions. The museum from GT5 I thought was rather boring and unnecessary. Quote:
Dethrone it? Doesn't GT sell more than Forza? Last time I checked it did. |

Depends on what you want out of the game. Each have their strengths and weaknesses.

I completely agree. As much as I want to say it's personal preference and which system he/she is more of a fanboi of, it really depends on what you're looking or expect. For me, I like GT for simulation even though it lacks damage, etc.; and I like Forza for it's almost infinite customization even though they went away with a lot with the latest installment.
