I just wonder why in the US, prices haven't been said? Around other parts of the world they have, why not here?

As per the dealer he won't take any kind of deposit till they know pricing and can actually have numbers to work with on paper to order. So I would say they won't be ordering till they get pricing information.

No, my dealer said the same thing. Ordering will open feb 28th. Pricing released shortly after. He said subie is not worried about people ordering or not... basically the demand is so high, even if ppl pre order, and you drop out, there will be enough potential buyers to take ur spot.

Interesting that he said Scion and Subaru will release at the same time. I have been hearing that Subaru is waiting for Scion's announcement but I didn't think that meant they would release on the same day. I thought that meant they would wait to see what Scion said and then base their price off of it.

Given some of the posts in this thread on the potential Feb 23 preorder date, I'm really surprised this thread went quiet..... Just too many rumors going on at this point...

I was at the Toronto Autoshow (CIAS) yesterday and both Subie and Scion are telling me that the car will be ready for June deliveries.

Only thing that was odd was Scion was telling me pricing would be high 20's like 28K (Canadian $), while Subie was saying about $25K for the Premium to $30K for the limited. They did both say there was nothing officially released for pricing though, so were probably guessing.

I am thinking it should be $26K FR-S, $28K BRZ Premium and $30K for the BRZ Limited.

That's interesting @ first paragraph.

I'm with you on that last sentence. I can see the FR-S at $27-$28 depending on the B$ novelty factor. I don't believe they will sell it for the same price as the Civic Si at $25,9XX MRSP or below. I sure as hell wish they would though.

The scion guy said the the 86 in Japan first. But in North America the BRZ will be first. It is all speculation. Companies can change their minds.

http://www.motorward.com/2012/02/toy...m-24995-in-uk/

http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/02...-24995-in.html

"
Toyota revealed official pricing of the new 86 Sports Coupe for the British market ahead of the car’s launch in summer of 2012.
They are currently taking orders for the Toyota 86, for £24,995. That’s the base MSRP for the entry-level version. further pricing and specification details will be announced nearer the time of launch. Usually the final showroom price is a bit higher than what has been initially announced.
That sounds like a good price considering what you get in return. Toyota 86 is a rear-wheel-drive sports car, powered by a 2.0 liter flat-four engine which is mounted behind the front axle and low down to give the car a low center of gravity. That makes it, a least on paper, a great handling car.
The engine, made by Subaru, churns out 200hp, of which only 170 will actually make it to the rear wheels. The power is transmitted via a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, through a limited slip differential.
Toyota is currently working on a hotter version of the 86 with more power, so you might want to wait for that one to arrive."

"One of the most strongly anticipated sports cars of the year has been priced in Britain. Toyota revealed today that the new GT 86 coupe will carry an on-the-road price of £24,995 (equal to €30,206 or US$39,550) when sales start in June. This puts the GT 86 between two other popular Japanese sports cars in terms of pricing, the Mazda MX-5 that starts from £17,990 for the 124bhp 1.8-liter soft-top model, and the Nissan 370Z that begins at £29,950 for the 324bhp 3.5L V6 Coupe.
For the record, the base GT 86 is £2,000 more expensive than the Mazda MX-5 with a retractable hardtop and the 158bhp 2.0-liter engine.
Toyota said it will announce further pricing and specification details closer to the time of launch, though it is already accepting advance orders in the UK.
The four-seater coupe is powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated boxer-engine delivering a maximum output of 197bhp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 205Nm (151.2 lb-ft) at 6,600rpm, linked to a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.
Power is distributed to the rear wheels through a standard limited slip differential.

You would think these two manufacturers would have talked ot each other behind closed doors already having pricing ready and set. I have a feeling the market and some new models that are coming out by their Korean competitor, HYUNDAI, have them both second guessing their base price so now they are trying to get a feel for the US market before the make anything official.

I also truly believe it would be unfair and foolish for both to annouce their pricing at different times, and if they do they shoudl try ot keep it close like within the same week. Because, alot of their targeted audience is basing their purchase decision based upon pricing so they need to allow them to make a decision!
