Great info! Many thanks for taking the time to post this.
2.46 lock-to-lock in conjunction with smallish diameter steering wheel and turning circle sound unsurprisingly encouraging. |

No problem guys, glad I could help. I was also a little surprised at the target demographics. 47 seems a lot older than I would expect!

Thanks for posting! This looks eerily similar to the pamphlet thing released a month or 2 ago...
Sad to see the MT getting raped on the EPA test. The lower gears are comparable though, I wonder why the city score is so low...I'm going to go investigate how the EPA does their manual transmission testing. |

![]() Anybody notice the 93 octane fuel requirement? Don't they know Cali only has 91?

Lol all luxury and performance cars say 93, some even say 95 (BMWs, Audis, Porsches). They all run fine on 93, and will still perform well with 91, you can even get by with 89 on these cars, but I wouldn't.

Ah, that's good to know. Perhaps 95 refers to 95 RON, which IIRC is usually the same grade as 91 (R+M)/2. It would be ridiculous if they didn't have California in mind.

this dealer guide has some very peculiar information to say the least. it seems like the intended audience for the BRZ is anywhere but on this forum bar a handful of folks. "extremely limited quantities"- one has to really wonder how "limited" this car will be. it's certainly not a Porsche Cayman even though that was the development target and it's certainly not a whole rung above the FR-S since it's essentially the same car. I have to say I'm glad I'll be hanging out the first two years of production so I won't have to deal w/ all the dealer and marketing hyperbole not to mention all the early adapters who just can't wait (nor should they have to, just sayin') to get their hands on one. if things are out of control even after the first two years of production I might have to go to my local Scion dealer instead. hoping I won't have to, but you gotta have a back up plan.

Are the f*cking joking with the target consumer? Average age 47? Average income $89,000?

I wouldn't look too deep into the marketing demographic, simply because you want the BRZ and they don't need to market to you. Subaru is simply looking for after the initial rush, sustaining the sales.
The Mini Cooper is probably the best example of a modern-day global launch and a company like Subaru is best following where Mini has given up...the successful corporate person looking for a fun car that won't break the bank. Cooper S cost around 28K today for reference in comparison to a Limited BRZ which looks great and might be in that same price realm. |
