Work Wheels.. Disk sizing ?
About to order wheels and have been asked to select disk size, choices are A Disk or O Disk...
I'm still not sure "exactly" what it means.. Googled a shit load of threads about it but they all end up going off topic so no one gets a straight answer ![]() From what I can gather so far is, O less concave and more lip and vice versa.. |

Cool, thanks.
I'll be keeping standard brake set up hoping O is fine for it. Just got word from my supplier that Work Japan will contact him to find out what they recommend on a 86 and what they've already fitted. Hopefully find out soon.. Thanks again

No problem. If you stick with stock brakes. O-disk is fine, I run O-disk lol

Some wheels have different disk types, for brake clearance. Not all wheels have good brake clearance, so they need thicker back pads to add space. This of course changes the offset.
So for instance, you may notice on Work Wheels USA's website that they have certain wheels that have similar specs but the lip sizing is different. This is due to the change in back pad thickness. One easy way to see the difference in thickness would be to compare the same diameter, width, and lip size. ![]() You'll notice that 19x10.5 +45 (A-disk or regular), 19x10.5 +55 (O-disk or low-disk), and 19x10.5 +28 (R-disk or high-disk) all have 72mm lips. The back pad has 10mm more metal shaved off for the O-disk version compared to the A-disk version, and the R-disk has 17mm material added in comparison to the A-disk version. If you have the clearance, O-disk allows you to simply run bigger lip sizes, by compensating for the difference in backpad thickness (bigger lip = smaller inner barrel for the same width wheels). |

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO............
im gonna bring this thread back, so from what ive gather, running "O-disk" on our car is completely fine as long as you dont go with a big brake kit?? "A-disk" is fitted like a regular wheel with no deepdish lips? so if i run "O-disk" say dimensions of the wheels are 18x9.5 et39 i will be fine?? |

And yes, that should fit with coilovers but will be very close to your stock suspension. |
