the 2zz-ge was limited by its head design and intake manifold design , it didnt flow like a k20, the most anyone ever got out of a 2zz-ge Na was about 250 WHP, k20 got about 300+ whp if the head does flow better, which i imagine it does because of the torque numbers, we will see better gains than the 2zz-ge if you ask anyone who has seriously tinkered with a 2zz-ge would know that, its not the best flowing engine out there, DDprefomanceresearch made a new intake manifold that yielded some pretty crazy numbers, i think it was like 30hp untuned and 50hp with a tune

Okay cool, I look forward to seeing what you do. But you first said 300hp with intake/header/exhaust/supercharger, which is never going to happen on pump gas.

so you're saying 9whp is impossible to gain from an engine that flows better and has 0.2L more? whats the company you bought the rock from, ya know the one you live under...

Sorry if I missed something, but you said the most anyone got from a 2ZZ naturally aspirated was 250hp...is this with stock displacement and rev limit? If so, then sure, 300 is possible.
But to make 300hp on this engine without changing rev limit, you have to give it at least 50% more air, which is more than .5 bar boost due to heat of compression. And this is while performing more work during compression cycle at low lambda values, and doing less expansion. If I'm not mistaken, the Exige S makes a bit under .5 bar boost stock, but only picks up <15% more torque/power. And you're telling me that you expect 50% more with under 1 bar boost among other mods? 20% on top of 200hp is 240, you don't simply pick up 60hp from a cat/muffler delete. If the exhaust caused that much restriction manufacturers would've gotten the whole active noise cancellation thing going a long time ago. I don't believe that a stock engine could have enough detonation headroom built in to withstand 1 bar boost, no matter how well it's intercooled. |

this is a basic tune on a exige with no other changes other than ecu mapping this is WHP and it shows before and after the tune ![]() this 7psi 11.5:1 comp, completely stock EDIT: every car manuf runs a conservative tune thats why you're always able to tune more out of a stock engine....

I really love the look of those brakes, but I don't think I would spend that much money for them. Even a brembo kit just like that for the STI is nearly $7,000. You can buy a set up of STI brakes and at the same time swap out the hubs for about $3,000 brand new. Just pay a little bit of money to have them powder coated and you're set for much less and you still have a perfect brake set up for the car.

I think depending on the how the motor handles it you could reach close to 300 whp with a supercharger and supporting mods. I'm guess it'd take about 10psi to get there though.

Sorry for my ignorance as I have never bought any TRD kit (or any aftermarket parts) before but I am liking the TRD kit a lot.
My questions is whether it would be better to get the car now and add the kit later or wait til the kits are out and get them then? Will the dealer take into consideration that since I will not be using the stock parts (i.e. wheels, seats and etc), the prices for the kits will be lower compared to the later add-ons? Your input will be very much appreciated. |

not that i care or really even know anything about the subject at hand but the compression ratio seems kinda like a limiting factor. on the other hand the rotrex charger is probably more effecient than anything that has been on an mr2
