So we will have a choice between the current system and the new 3 button process?
I kind of like the current process better

With this updare can you still copy your original ROM from the OFT to the laptop to store a backup copy in case the OFT craps itself or needs a full reset. I would hate to loose my stock ROM

Current users need not take advantage of this update. It's mainly an alternative for new users who want a simple tuning solution. Those who are happy doing what they are currently doing via laptop and OpenFlash manager, can continue to do the same.

And of course, regardless of what choice you make (preloaded map database vs loading your own maps) your stock file is always saved and available to download and back-up.

Ah...after re-reading for the third time I think I have it now...this was just for the initial setup?

that'll definitely make for a lot friendlier process for people who aren't into messing with such things. hooking a computer up to your car scares a lot of people away.

Hi guys,
Quick update:

Finally got this working last night And we also have brand new v1.50 OTS maps ready to launch as well. Perhaps a good trial run for those willing to give this a go would be launch the new maps in Tune File Database (.dev) format. One very nice thing about this new format is that each tune files is no longer a 1.3mb ROM file. Instead, the .dev file a set of instructions given to the OFT processor on how to modify the original/stock ROM. This saves a lot of space and uploading-to-OFT time. For instead, our first database file will contain nearly 50 maps (all C, D, G, I, J, N and O ROMs supported) and will be less than 500k in size. As opposed to 65mb! (50x1.3mb) in standard ROM (.bin) format. In database format, these tune files will not be downloadable (from the OFT) but they will eventually be posted in standard .bin format on the website. That will allow you to view and edit as normal.

Later this week, I'll let you guys know when this is ready for ya

Cheers
shiv

No plans to do any changes to how TCS is enabled/disabled due to liability concerns. You can already adjust the hardness/softness by either changing the hysteresis value (RPM delta between the on/off rev limits values) and/or by adjusting the ignition advance values in the last RPM breakpoint which provides torque reduction just before fuel cut.

256mb. More than enough to store 200+ complete ROMs but we think there is a more interesting way to make use of that storage. 2014 is going to be an interesting year.
