If they had put a dual clutch auto in the new WRX I would be buying a 2nd car right meow.

Just seems strange to me that they've been using UELs for awhile now, then all of a sudden decide to switch? I guess the previous WRXs just sounded too scary, or racecar-like for the normal person so they decided to make it boring. Quote:

Im a subie fan boy myself, so UELs are a must. In regards to uels, I guess thats what I love about the twins - UELs get better or equal performance for the most part. |

isn't the fact that the new WRX comes with EL headers irrelevant to the performance guys anyways, if there is demand for it the aftermarket will provide UEL headers for it. Just like for the FT86 platform/FA20. When you hear a distinctive boxer rumble of a Subie, chances are it's a modified Subie not a stock one.

How bad do heat cycles affect tire performance? As you may know I am in need of tires and came across some used rivals fs for 275 shipped. 5/32 tread left with about 40 autox runs and 1000 DD miles. Never had uhp tires before so I'm interested the check them out considering I don't commute anymore. If I could get another 7.5-10k miles on them I'd be happy considering money is a bit tight so this seems like a decent trade to forking over $500-$550 at the moment

Heat cycles make the tire hard and not as sticky. 40 heat cycles is a lot. But if your not trying to get the fastest lap at Laguna seca then you should be fine. Then again used regular tires w/O heat cycles would do the same trick. I thought they had some good deals in the tire shops in stocton? Craigslist always has deals for wheels and tires for $500. So take the wheels away. That's about $200-$300 for tires?
