(Any of you geeks out there are probably not too surprised since kinematics dictate that any planar surface can only touch at 3 points, since that is the very definition of a plane, assuming we are talking about a rigid body ofcourse). Damn the 86 chasis is rigid!

Uh, Aren't you suppose to check the jack stands after you lower your jack? Don't worry. I don't check mine either. Bad habit, But it's what your suppose to do before getting under or taking out the jack from underneath.

I did, looking from the back of the car. From that angle, it looked like it was sitting on it, but the car was actually hovering about 1/8" over the jack stand.

I go around and kick them a bit. I figure if they don't move it should be good. Lol

Oh well, no worries. I knew about it before the track day but didn't know you had extra fluid with you. You sure came prepared! Does anyone local carry Motul besides Works?

Go to the Motul website and check locations. There's a few dealers from SF to PA. Otherwise, LPI and Roger Kraus has them in stock.

I hate to be a fanboy but the fact that Subaru got rid of the UELs in the new WRX just ruins it for me. That was one of the defining features and a big reason why I fell in love with them in the first place over other turbo 4-cylinders. The fact that (some say) it looks like a Corolla now and sports a CVT, I dunno anymore...

I hear ya man. Reading "CVT" in the press releases was a face-palm moment for me. I will miss the UEL sound, like you said, its one of its distinguishing characteristics, one of the very few constants from gen to gen. Its always been fun hearing one around the corner and knowing what it was before even seeing it. Also disappointed to hear that it will be a sedan-only body style, seemed to me the hatch could have had the potential of looking much more interesting (its the sedan rear that makes it look like a corolla to me)

I'm not too disappointed in Subaru and the next gen WRX tho, I'd just call it typical Subaru: always coming up with awesome concept with exciting promises, start out with good intentions to appeal to mass market and produce a boring (but mostly good mechanicals) car, massively disappointing the core enthusiast, slowly improve over a couple iterations to make it up to the enthusiast, get rid of now-acceptable design once it has finally grew on you, come up with new disappointing design, rinse & repeat.
