Scoobynewbie's 2013 BRZ

Long story short, I bought a 08 Jetta that tanked on value and could only really trade it for something new... so driving past Subaru one day, I mentioned to my wife how I liked the BRZ. Her response shocked me, "Why don't you get one?"... So, the VW got traded in for a new Subaru.

So part of this deal with the wife is that I am not allowed to void the factory warranty. So for 3yrs / 36000 miles, the only thing she will see is wheels, suspension, bracing, brakes, and exhaust / intake. No turbo kits, no super sexy superchargers, just 170whp NA goodness from the factory.

Brand new in her new driveway...

1500 miles later, on the dyno:

And I couldn't believe how small it looks next to my RS:

And with that being said, the Dyno results. Yes it is bone stock, no I don't know why there is no torque dip, no it isn't tuned...

On an unrelated note, I am very dissatisfied with one thing on the car. That is the damn seat belt guide... The belt keeps twisting and pissing me off. Something I will have to fix.

First stock dyno I'm seeing without the torque dip. Are you confident in the results?

We did 4 pulls both in inertia and under load and were getting the same results.

It is a Dynocom FX5000 AWD dyno. Why is there such heartache from a piece of paper with a couple lines on it. If this place turns out to be like nasioc, then I'll be out. I did this to track the progress and plan on staying on the same dyno.

I don't mean to get you upset and bug you about it I am just curious about it (and I am sure you will get many more people asking) because this is the only dyno graph of a stock engine that looks like this. Out of the hundreds that I have looked at this is the only one without the torque dip so I am just curious.

Yeah man. My tuner has said the same thing. I have not modified the car in any way. He suggested a possible factory fix on the tune but that is just guess work.

It is possible - could be related to the injector failures and they loaded the new factory tune?

That would be nice to know if they did because I would want that new tune.

This was a thread from some time ago:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8025
So maybe they did do something, to mitigate the torque dip...maybe...no one has confirmed anything.

How would we go about confirming / denying this information? Part numbers? Any opensource data loggers that I can get to pull the map?

Well, I just also realized you have a 13 too, but if its a late model it may have some changes if changes did occur. I haven't seen anything confirming or denying what was said back then, but we may know more as more newer models get sold and strapped to a dyno. But anyways congrats and welcome! I probably won't do any major mods myself for a long time to come
