Agree with @SirBrass regarding the lc2i. I've used one in my brz with fabulous results. Also heard good things about the cleansweep.

Audiocontrol lc2i Is the best bang for your buck. I took the speaker output from the back of the headunit, spliced in the lc2, and then ran my rca down the side of the car to the trunk. Easy as pie.

Pac makes a super cheap one, but it probably carries a muddy signal. I've never used on so don't quote me on that.

solder this:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...e-RFIF2SW.html
onto your new hardness, which was repined using this thread and your golden.

I first connected the speaker level inputs to the KTP alpine amp as this thread describes and then used "wire splices"
http://www.delcity.net/store/Quick-S...FROTfgodqVYA2A
in order to tap into the high level inputs and ground on the harness now i have the KTP alpine powering the rear 3.5 panel speakers and the front 3.5's and
i have a Hifonics 5000.5 powering infinity kappa 62.9i's in my doors (95 db) and 2 JL 6.5 co-axle TR's installed in my rear seats
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51434
and a JL 13w7 in a ported box behind my drivers seat to pick up the low's

i tapped into the rear amp +/- of both speakers and the ground cable on the RCA attachment to the ground on the harness.

you could fry your RCA input on your amp if you don't use a line out converter unless your amp has speaker level inputs.

Anyone done this amp swap using an amp that's not the powerpack? Just trying to get some ideas.

So for those of you who have tried this, with the alpine powerpack, what do you have your front gains set to, and are you using factory speakers?
Maybe its just my ears, or my preference, but 1/2 way is too much imo. I have mine at just past 1/8.
at least for me that seems to be where it balances out with the rest of the speakers nicely.
Also:
does anyone know if the power for the harness in the back is from the HU, or if it is independent of the HU? I still have not managed to rid myself of the noise and its killing me. someone suggested to me that maybe the unit is not getting enough power, again changing wire gauge

I've just tried my Alpine amp and well I'm a little bit disapointed of the results with the OEM speaker.

It's for sale if anyone want it

Yea, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this unless your also getting speakers, (which I eventually did)

This thread has been immensely helpful to me, I am not well versed in car audio. I have a question about this Alpine mini amp..

I want to wire in the KTP-445U amp, and install some Polk DB6501 components, removing the dash speakers and putting the tweeters there. I only want to do this if the amp can be safely bridged on the stock setup, because the DB6501s need the power (100rms 300peak). I understand this amp can be bridged to 90x2@4ohm, but is it advisable to do this on stock wiring?

I have been. I played with running power from the same source as the sub I have, but saw no improvement, so went back to simplify wiring, working fine for me
