Somewhat practical and functional.
Helps keep insurance rates down.
Folds down for more cargo space. Carry track tires and such.

I agree with the weight reduction.. But everything is already thin enough.. Lol..
I wonder how much air bag systems weigh.. But 2500lbs would be better!!

Surely a turbo model is in the pipeline and we will all want one. I wonder if the torque dip is preparing us to tolerate the very similar "turbo lag" a la the WRX.

There's a product called Statique which can be sprayed on fabric to stop it clinging. Works like a charm on car seats and lasts for weeks preventing zaps.

I just thought to Google "underbody panels BRZ" and understand what they are about now. I didn't realise you U.S. people lacked them. Your centre of gravity would be 2cm higher too. GASP!
What we all REALLY need is an explosive panel under the front bumper to destroy low flying kerbs etc.

I took a long trip yesterday, and I drove calmly for fuel economy. That is what I hate most about my FR-S, driving it for fuel economy. I shall probably never do that again. From now on I will drive it for fun, as that is what I enjoy most about the FR-S.

Yea all we get in a strip of paneling that covers the fuel/brake lines and wiring that is routed under the car (I dont care about the 2cm lower center of gravity ). I just want them to protect the undercarriage from salt, chemicals, and road debris which there is plenty of where I live (they do horrible patch jobs until the road is a checker board then they repave the whole thing).

I just curbed my right front bumper...its on the bottom so it isn't visible...but its there and I know it. Titanium front lip?
