No, but it substantially reduces the charge density if you then touch the key tip to some metal on the car...

not the worst thing, but its really hard to do the text book posture for reverse. you know the one where your hand rests on the passenger seat? its cool though because the seats more than make up for that when going forward...well sideways

I hate 2 things:
1) Lack of underbody panels - cost me 360 bucks to have them shipped to me.
2) Lack of armrest - min cost 190, what I want is a JPcoachworks version which is 330.

All the other things people complain about dont bother me even a little lol

Maybe it's just technique. The objective is to discharge the static over a larger area of skin surface. So one needs to firmly grip the key by its metallic portion (firm grip to get more skin contact) and then touch the tip of the key to a metallic part on the car like the lock. There will still be a discharge but it'll be a lot less jolting.

This was much easier in the old days when the entire key was metallic!
