I think most of the hate on this car is due to the mustang having the stigma of the hs jock douchebag car. Which it does kind of have a bad rep for that, the everymans performance car. But alas, this next gen stang looks like a completely different horse. They couldn't just design it with americans in mind, they had to appeal to worldwide buyers, bmw m3 buyers in Europe, which is not easy to do. They really took the best aspects of all the other mustangs and made it relevant in this new design. I love my fr-s a lot but as soon as I'm able to trade her in I'm definitely going to shoot for a nice mustang gt with a leather interior. I could've cross shopped a gt when i was buying my fr-s but it wasn't in my budget, i didn't want the shitty gas mileage at the time, and i also didn't want a live axle.
I can't wait to see the gt compared against the m3, last test i read the m3 was faster by a few secs, but the gt which costs about 20k less was very very close. I'm curious to see how the new suspension and engine will do for it against the m3. |

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would be interested in owning one
preferably the 4-cylinder turbo but I would like to know more info first before i make any decisions

Overall, not too bad, but the rear end does bother me a bit. It should be released next year Q4 and I'm interested in what it'll be priced at too.

Not my cup of tea nor that of many of the twin owners on here but I think it is safe to assume that the new Mustang will outsell the FR-S/BRZ by a significant margin. Ford knows what most American sporty car buyers want.

It is a good shade. Not bad at all.
MomHawk is all giddy about it. I guess I better start saving my pennies now.

Wow that's bad. Looks like a Taurus and the hood is very tall. Even if it sheds 400lbs it will still handle like crap.

The more I look at it the more I like it. And normally I'd give myself no option but to go for the V8. However, it looks like the I4 is built to hold a good amount of power from the factory. At least as much as the 8 cyl stock.
![]() I've no option but to buy a car within the next 12 months or so. Soon a one-car family won't cut it anymore. I was 100% set on a FRS or BRZ, especially with the used ones already depreciating.. But hell if my decision didn't just get harder. |

From the Ford site, with the top up. Not sure I'm digging the side profile as much. Seems a bit long, but that could just be the angles doing that to it.

An I4 turbo will not beat a V8 turbo..
Hell...even some bolts on, NA V8 will kill whatever the Crap tunes you did to your I4 turbo Unless, you go all out....with 50% off that much on a V8...it will still kill ....that I4 turbo Enugh said |

I'm going to pull some figures out of my ass here, forgive me, because we don't have any pricing figures. So let's just go on assumption. Figure 25 grand for the I4T version of the Mustang. Figure 30 grand for the V8. I'm not sure where you got 50% less power though. Unofficial figures have been posted, and sit right now (testing is still being done) at 305-315 horsepower and 300-310 lb ft torque on the I4. That's about 25% less than the V8 currently. Again, talking out of my ass, but figure a tune and bolt ons will put the I4 and V8 on equal footing power wise. Throw E85 at the turbo and it'll go even more. You're still under the base cost of the V8. If you want to dump thousands into it, that engine is already forged, which is why that diagram was so important to my post. Sure we can compare the turbo V8 Mustang now. How much is a Hellion single turbo kit for the 5.0? Figure about 6-7 grand? So that puts us at 37ish thousand to be making a ton of power. It's definitely the way to go for people that want boatloads of power. I don't care to have a thousand horsepower though. I've owned a fast Mustang, so I've already experienced it. |
