LOL Gotcha. With that size and power, it will make a fun commuter. Now people would cross shop this and GTI.

kinda want. have to wait for the reviews and maybe see it in person, but seems like it would make a good DD. then later on pick up a frs and make it track/weekend warrior car.

The only thing the Veloster turbo got over the FR-S is torque and features. That's not enough for me as I am not a fan of the styling or FWD platform. Also the turbo should be much heavier than miata's non turbo model. I think it will be 2,950 lbs.

The blacked out grill with the yellow looks really good. Nice job.

Does anyone know if the Hyundai 1.6 Turbo runs on 87 octane?

uncomfortable flat seats, cheap materials

elantra based suspension

no thanks

& i know how it looks is subjective, but the FR-S looks way sexier imo. veloster is pudgy & awkward. FR-S is sleek & sharp.

Torsion beam rear suspension, FWD, and no LSD? I'll take multilink rear, RWD, and standard LSD of the FR-S, thanks, even if it is $3k more expensive. All those items are worth $3k. Not driving something with the looks of a Veloster with its jacked up 3 door configuration is worth another $3k.

Heck, I'd buy another GTI again before I'd consider the Veloster. It at least had a great looking interior, fantastic plaid seats, and was quite practical in the 2 box shape instead of this over-stylized mess of form over function.

Anyone considering FRS for autoX or track use should not seriously consider Veloster.
For normal street use multilink rear suspension or LSD doesn't do anything unless you break the laws and/or drive like an a$$hole.
If you buy a FRS, at least participate in autoX and tell me the rear suspension and LSD are necessary. If you don't you are just spending $3000 more for low feature car.
