Questions: 1. Did you need to rescale load range and if so, how much by; how much load does your engine see? 2. For your baseline timing map when starting, did you pull timing from base or advance map, and approx how much did you pull for a start? 3. What kind of AFRs are we looking for under boost at low level 4. What do you use for manual boost control; did you need to play with the MAP compensation maps? |

2. the first thing i did with both timing map was smooth out the base, then scaled both out to 2.5grev and set the advance map to 0 up to i think 0.4grev and ~5deg across the board from there. that was to make it easy to see when the ecu was pulling timing in the logs. i then used the total advance calculator to adjust the base to achieve the timing i wanted at peak torque and max rpm, smoothing it out along the way. from there it was just log, bump, log bump, until you see correction then pull back. 3. afr target under boost is 11.1:1. it actually hovers around 10.9:1-11.2:1. 4. i use a hallman pro mbc. iirc i didn't touch any maps that reference map aside from the scaling of the sensor. |

Good points on both sides. I personally want to the ability to have at least a bit of adjustability on my end. That's why I went with oft. It wasn't strictly price. I dont want to pay a premium price and be forced to depends on updates from an out of state tuner. I get it though. Just not for everyone.

Late getting in the discussion but want to second the OP's theme to the thread.
I plan on going FI sometime in the near future. One of the key selling points for me will also be an open/unlocked tune. |

I believe Vishnu already offers an unlocked OFT tune for the Phanton SC. You can see their dyno results attached (stock vs. ESC+midpipe on 91oct vs ESC+midpipe on E85).
I'm happy to say that more FI kit support is underway as we speak... er type. |
