To be completely honest if I could buy a brand new Z4 with the money I paid for 86, I'd go Z4. It is a very sweet looking car.

LOL! Is that an offer? I suppose I could defend myself by saying that I already listed love, but I meant love for the car. I also suppose it's possible to find a woman on this forum, but the odds are pretty bad. Finding a man might be easier. My money is on there being very few women here, but lots of closeted guys.

Mostly, I'm just confused as to why you said all that. What did I say to earn it?

I am sorry, the part of "be polite, rather than being ignorant" was not intended toward you

I just generally take it as when you think that the thing you Own is the best of the world = ignorant. It is obviously, not you.

Make yourself at home. And it's because we ARE brilliant for buying an FR-S/BRZ.

What you HATE the most on your FR-S/BRZ/GT86/FT86?

The only thing I worry about the car (still waiting for mine) is the chirping and creaking problems. Are these still present on new MY2014 model cars?

The crickets are common. It's not harmful to the car in any way, it just sounds like a cricket chirping once the oil has reached operating temps. Some people absolutely hate it, but it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, the crickets let me know when the engine is fully warmed up and ready for action.

In terms of creaking problems... I haven't had these yet, but I'm only at 2300 miles so far.

The only issue that bothers me is the rough shifting while the fluid temps are still cold right now (~30 degrees outside). This is the first stick I've ever owned that I needed to double clutch to downshift into 2nd. The minor grind into 2nd from 1st when the fluid and ambient temps are cold is also bothersome. Luckily, I'll be changing my diff and tranny fluid to Motul Gear 300 in the next week or so.

Other than that... I love my car. No complaints and no regrets.

Twice the money? Many vehicles are as fun, better in all areas, but the FR-S only wins due to fuel economy.
Disagree. The FR-S wins because of what it doesn't have: weight. The inherent lightness of being the FR-S makes it a bit magical.

I also could have purchased any car I wanted to under 40G and after test driving several I got the FR-S and I haven't regretted it for one minute..
All vehicles have there little quirks/problems of which so far I haven't experienced any of which I've heard mentioned so far; but I trust that Toyota/Scion will take care of them as they always have. In my experience over the course of thirty years and if not mistaken 7 vehicles they have always taken care of things.
And a brief mention on this forum I happen to like it at least it not one large classified Ads which some for these cars are

The chirping has been fixed with the oct 17 tsb. Only one case of this pump chirping, everyone else has had good luck with this one.

Over 3,000km since I got mine and chirp free.

(Usually a new pump will start chirping around 1k km, with the old design)

Well, you are a bit limited at under 40G out the door. If so, the FR-S is completely a better choice. Especially at Sub 30k.

1/ sleek looking
2/ Super car characteristics, and handling, but low power
3/ Cargo space

But twice the price of the FR-S would be in the 50G. Now if you are talking about 50G...there are more to enjoy...unless you can not drive them Ofcourse.

The FR-S is excellent vehicle for the sub 40g. It was well thought into, and designed for. But it doesn't mean that it is the best out there, especially with the Op said "Money is no Objection"

If you can, go test drive a C7, and you will see how American is blessed with them, and the price. Ofcourse, C7 is also well thought, and designed. Whoever complains about C7 have no Cargo space = Idiots...people who can swing 60G around at their Leisure time, do only carry Golf cubs....LOL!!!
