Totally agree... More importantly the majority of wheels made in 5x114 are going to be really low offset applications, only a few are made around the same offset that the FRS needs if you ask me.

Wheel bearings and hubs, as an example, are very simplistic things when you look at how they are assembled. As long as everything is properly manufactured within spec, you won't have normal issues. The main point to consider is the company selling them: do they have a warranty? What type? How reliable is the brand? Because in the end, if something happens you have to claim warranty with Megan, not anyone else. Same with the other Hardrace hubs. Are you really going to buy something from Taiwan and then claim warranty with them, in Taiwan? YMMV. -alex |

Has anyone actually bitten the bullet and gotten these? Interested to hear feedback.
I don't agree with the 'abundance' of 5 x 100 wheels choices. In NZ we have such an abundance of anything jdm due to our lax import laws from Japan; that have since been tightened up. Any set of wheels new I price up are about $1500 landed for rota's, about $2500 for enkeis, and over $4k for anything that I'd call decent. Yet those same wheels can be found second hand locally for well under $2k, sometimes under $1k. The catch? They're all 5x114.3. It's just the initial cost of these hubs that are making me hesitate. But even costing them in, it still seems worth it. It'll also make it far easier to sell wheels and change. 5x100 wheels will never be popular here. |

The fact of the matter is that 5x114.3 wheels are going to be a much more popular option, especially used. I think a lot of manufacturers of wheels started to make a few more options in 5x100 with the anticipation of the FR-S/BRZ, but for those that want to swap wheels frequently or are into buying used wheels, 5x114.3 is the way to go.

Agree. 5x100 wheels are never going to become common in NZ, ever. The cars that run them aren't popular, and 86's are never going to common, especially when they cost $45k and the average salary would only be that. I know in Christchurch there's 400,000 people and they've only sold about 20 86's.

![]() at any rate, is there a reason why you can't just redrill the fronts to fit?

The selection of high quality wheels in 5x100 is awesome today.
Why don't poor people just buy more money?

sorry, I meant redrill the front brake rotors as opposed to getting an STI caliper/rotor set or aftermarket kit.
my answer to that is that there are wheels I want to run, but the don't come in 5x100. different strokes

rotors can be redrilled for a different bolt pattern, wheres the problem?
year or so back knsbrakes had sent me the wrong pattern sti rotor, didn't notice till the day they were going on, drill press, punch set, good bits and a rotor with the correct pattern to use as a template, problem solved. |

yeah, you'll need to explain yourself.
especially since redrilling is suggested for the rear brakes if you don't want to go aftermarket
