Just wanted to chime in. We did a lot of back and forth tuning over the last few days. I had Friday off work to prepare for my last autocross double event weekend.

Bob worked with me all day long going back and forth over tunes to make sure it was top notch. Went through at least 6 revisions so far. He even stayed up late to make sure everything went great. Car ran like a champ and pulled very well.

We still have some more updating to do. Saturday my front pipe showed up so we need to adjust for that. And get the rev limiter not to cut fuel at redline.

Then in the spring when the header comes in we will adjust again for that.

But overall this process has been fantastic and very detailed.

I strongly urge people who have been having issues with what ever tuner they are using if its not getting enough info on whats going on with the tune or just not getting the care you were looking for shoot these guys a message you wont be disappointed.

I'm on revision 5, and it's really coming together. Smooth torque, very refined in all conditions, awesome power. It's not just a barely noticeable difference, it's real, and you feel it every time you drive the car. I'm amazed at the low end torque and driveability Bob managed to wring out of a stock FA20, and keep that torque all the way up. Even the dip is pretty much gone.

And my favorite party piece is the nice exhaust rasp instead of the torque dip. 3-5k is my new favorite rev range, where I used to drive "around" that range before.

Highly recommended, and the exhanges with Bob are always informative and detailed. :-)

I just started working with Bob, and I must say his customer service and knowledge is unmatched. He really does care about you and what you want in a tune for your car. Even though I just started working with him, I can tell his work is going to be amazing based on how great the base calibration he sent m was. I know nothing about tuning, but his instructions are so detailed that anyone can figure it out.

If your debating between the fa20tune, perrin, or any others...make it easier on you and your car and go with BOB.

updates for final HP gains soon to come........

I have a problem now....

Doing 3rd gear WOT runs for logging and I can't do it without the T/C kicking in... 1st world problems!

(yeah, it's cold and wet here in Norway, and I have winter tires on the car, but still!)

Hahaha. We take no responsibility for making the car just too much fun to drive or providing too much power

Glad you are enjoying the tune so far. Sounds like you may need some snow tires!

Haha. I gotcha. Maybe you need to head south for some warmer temps and clear roads to0 enjoy that new tune. Italy?

Stelvio?

Or SustenPass in Switzerland, maybe?

Or the famous Monaco hairpin?

We had the opportunity to dyno the BRZ we originally posted about in the beginning of this thread on a different mustang dyno at a different shop. This is the same BRZ with the same setup (drop-in filter, muffler delete), completely stock otherwise for power mods. It was verified that this mustang dynamometer was a straight up mustang with no special calibrations.

We ran the stock calibration and our tuned stage 1 calibration back to back. We set the Ignition Advance Multiplier to 1 for both runs, so both calibrations ran maximum timing to create a fair comparison.

Stock run peak: 173whp/152wtq
Stage 1 tune peak: 188whp/161wtq

We netted a peak gain of 15whp and 9wtq. At the bottom of the stock torque dip, our stage 1 tune produced a 22 lb. ft. torque increase over the stock tune. Our stage 1 tune significantly reduces the torque dip and produces gains throughout the RPM range. When driving, you can barely feel the dip between 3700 and 3900rpm, and it goes by so fast you have to be looking for it to notice it.

We were pleased with the results and will have additional FR-S/BRZ dyno tunes to share soon.

Upcoming is a 93-octane tune with HKS headers, intake, and exhaust, and an E85 tune with HKS headers, intake, and exhaust. Stay tuned!

-Bob

Amazing job, how about reliability, the tune accomplished this result and maintained a safe margin?

Is this on 93 octane?

Any chance we can have a dyno with full exhaust/drop in filter/stock header?

Thanks, Victor!

This is a reliable tune, absolutely no knock and the advance multiplier stays at 1 (indicating a happy engine). We could have gotten more out of it, but we do not tune to the ragged edge. We leave a margin in place for changing environment variables and fuel quality.

Yes, this tune was accomplished on local 93-octane fuel.

We have found in tuning other European BRZ's/GT86's that your 98RON is superior to our 93-octane. Especially V-power fuel. We are able to produce more power with your 98RON and 100RON fuels.

The BRZ here will have a cat-back exhaust installed in the near future. We'll have to get it back on the dyno after that is installed.

Well with the price that our fuel cost us... The least is that it gives better margin for a tune.

Damn it, I almost cry every time I go to fill up the tank ahah

Looking forward to the next dyno charts.
