RPF1 17x8 +35 on stock suspension?
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has a setup with 17x8 +35 RPF1s on completely stock suspension? Leaning toward this direction but open to community suggestions on width and offset... I have a bias toward performance over aesthetics. Thanks!

I'd look at the 17x9 +35/+45 RPF1 threads since it will be similar depending on the tire size you plan on using. 17x8 +35 will certainly fit fine. Some say the 17x9 +35 "poke" out a little due to the extra 10mm of offset.

yeah i dont think theres much truth to what you just said. if a 9 inch rim doesnt hurt a 2100 lb 90 hp miatas handling i dont see how its too much for this car. whats hurting the cars performance might be the 245 tire

I'm open to 9" as well for the better look of the wheel but cognizant of the handling drawbacks as mentioned above...
If going with 17x9 +35, any issue of the fender coming down on the tire at full load given the amount that of poke? Completely stock setup, of course. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk

I have RPF1's in 17x8, +35 configuration on 235/45-17 Continental Extremecontact "DW" tires. With good driving on this setup, the limits of grip are ridiculously high. Naturally, driving with intent to lose grip or not realizing you're driving that way, and the tires will not grip as well, just like every other offering out there. Oh and this setup sits perfectly flush with the fender.

I will post pics later today for you but just as an fyi the car isn't stock suspension wise any longer. These wheels and tires were used on stock suspension for a long time with no issue, but they are now dropped on H&R Super Sports. Still, will post pictures for you

9s will be faster in almost every instance imo but then you will be married to a wider tire. the 8s will be cheaper and might have more tire choices.

In auto cross id agree that a 9 inch would be faster but the majority of the track guys on here at NA power (and Robi who is supercharged) are in consensus on an 8" wheel and either 225 or 235 wide tire.
