Anyone with tapturn can check this theory out for themselves... Park the car, off. Put signal stalk up, it will flash once thinking you're trying to program the blink count... But ignore that and just leave the stalk clicked up in right position... And then lock your car from the remote. See what I mean! Only on the right side. Put your stalk back to center. Lock again... Normal confirmations.

Is there any way to quiet the clicks? I suppose wrapping the device in something is an option but I don't know if it's supposed to breath.

I would cancel the noise from mods inside of the unit so it still has all the same physical appearance and installation convenience of snapping into place. Just use a note on the PayPal payment with your wishes and I'll make it come true. There'd be little concern about restricting airflow around this flasher if you have one already and want to wrap it to make it quiet, using whatever I guess, maybe sound dampening material for stereo installations... Dunno. But not a problem. (Thanks for asking tho!

You might be interested to know that I receive about as many inquiries about "making it louder" as I do "making it quieter". Poking holes through the case, sticking an empty Tic Tac box to the side, wrapping with foam, ... there's lots of "aftermarket fixes" you can apply to tune the sound to make it "juuuust right", like what Baby Bear would want.
..sorry I didn't get your request until after you ordered. I have no problem doing stuff like this for free at customer request. Cheers Scott

I have replaced every stock bulb in my FRS to the correct LED. I first got switchback front LEDs and they came with a resistor that I had to plug into the car under the steering wheel. I have recently just upgraded the reverse lights to LED and the rear turn signals to LEDs as well.
My problem is I have now is that when I flick the switch to put the lights on, my left and right green arrows on the dash board are lit. If I turn the control to take a left turn, the left arrow gets slightly brighter and does flash at the correct speed. What can I do to fix this problem? Thank you for your help

I'll try to help you diagnose your issue by PM. I see we've already started a conversation there. The cure here might be yank those resistors out and just install a Tapturn, you don't need resistors for it to work!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwBIalGl_64"]SCION FRS SIDE MARKER BLINKER - YouTube[/ame]
I'm thinking of making my sidemarkers blink link the one in the video, will the Tapturn reslove the wigwag (back and forth) blinking like the one in the video? Also will the Tapturn support LED sidemarker bulbs if I do decide to swap the stock ones out? Thanks a million. |
