Condensation in TOMs tails?

noticed quite a bit of condensation in the passenger tail light yesterday. Is this a common issue with the TOMs ? any waaranties? contacted the vendor and he said he'll try to contact them. Wondering if anyone else had the same problem and how was it resolved.

(and of course i didnt think to take a pic when i saw it )

Haven't had any issues with mine (the red ones). Been through some significant rain several times now.

Is yours the red or the clears? Is it the DOT approved one or not?

Any chance of being over tightened and that the weather has only just started to take affect? It's hard to know what weather's like over there, but it's suddenly got a bit grim over here that things like this would start becoming obvious

Hmm. kinda makes sense, when warm, expands, when cold contracts blah blah. could be possible, we'll see as the TOMs tail lights have yet to hit a winter (i think)

I purchased mines from a vendor on this forum (fteightysix) and had issues with condensation on my first set. I contacted them and they quickly got toms to send me another set without having to send mines in first. I was still having issues with the second set and the vendor worked with me to figure out the issue. The issue i was having with the tail lights was that the gasket was not sealing properly with the body so I doubled up the gasket and haven't had any issues since. We also found out from speaking to Subaru that the nuts on the back of the lights are too small which can cause problems. They suggested adding 4 washers to the back of the taillights before screwing them in BY HAND. Hope this helps.

If your thinking about purchasing these tail lights, i highly recommend doing business with fteightysix. Great guys with amazing customer service!

I just ordered new tails (BC tails, not Tom's) but would you recommend the 4 washers thing even if you've never had condensation issues in the stock tails to begin with?

I would since the washers are so cheap and it's an easy way to prevent damage to the framework of your car.
