Isn't antilag really hard on the turbo and engine? Will this be an ECU-induced anti-lag, or one with other special equipment like I've seen on rally cars. I've been told the anti-lag systems on those cars pretty much self destruct the turbos and need rebuilding very often.

Yes it will be laggy, but for drag racing it shouldn't be much of an issue. With the help of brake boosting or a rolling anti lag, it won't be too bad.

This car will be using anti lag for sure.

Anti-lag will be controlled through the ecu. It is tough on the turbos but well worth it.

This may be a dumb question, but can anti lag be turned on and off by selecting different tune maps?

Im assuming motec gives you full control of the throttle body for anti-lag as well as the injector missfireing? Correct?

Concerning the 8.8 rear end. LJ, do you all know the weight difference between the stock components and FBM ones? Just curious.

People also doubted many platforms and they turned out as beasts.

400 WHP is a far cry from 600+. That's a 300% increase in output power and stress on the motor, as opposed to the 200% of 400whp.

With an STI and it's more fragile EJ257, 600whp is a 200% increase and that severely limits its lifespan. With the stronger FA20, I wouldn't be as concerned about a 200% increase, but a 300% is sure to have its long term consequences.

When you take a motor like the FA20 and build it up that powerful for racing, you accept that you're severely limiting its lifespan and accepting that you're going to be swapping blocks after (at best) a few tens of thousands of miles. Cost of doing business there.

Facts of the game no matter the engine: when you exceed it's designed power output, depending on the design it can take it, but in so doing you're going to cut short its normal lifespan by an increasing amount the more power you continue adding onto it.

I can get that info for you mike, We have the OEM diff sitting on the shelf here. The 8.8 with all the guts inside weights roughly 85lbs
