Looks great! Would be nice if it were a WRB in background

@shiv@vishnu

Ordered my OFT today. Sent an email to sales to check stock and see about faster shipping options. Really excited to see where you guys take this product. Do you think at some point we could create some sort of index thread? Like a thread that links to all the other / new threads? It's a pain to keep track of all the different ones.

If you sent an email to sales@vishnutuning.com, you should hear back from them tomorrow. They should be able to overnight it to you so you have it on Tuesday As for the thread management, I'm actively trying to consolidate thread topics at this time. Thanks for the order!

Cheers,

Hi Shiv!

Thank you for entertaining us with that diagnostic feature.
In accordance with my results, my average AFR Bank 1 rate is 14.58-14.70
running stage 1 with drop in filter and snorkel cut. Does it seem lean mixture or is it standard number? And please explain what is "KC learned" gauge showing me? Is it knock correction? And what should this gauge show when engine running in good/safe mode? I always see KC learned rising upto 4-4.5 when stepping on the accelerator pedal. Gas is 98 octane (equal to 93 US AKI)
Sorry for the noob questions, i am totally new to the tuning of this kind.
Will be much obliged is someone explains me what should i do - to relax or fix something?
Cheers,

Andrey

i can try to help with some of this. your afr should hover around 14.7:1 when you're in closed loop just cruising around, so that's probably fine. it's very rare that you'll actually see a fueling error bad enough to cause the closed loop afr to not hit target (that's what trims are for).

i'm guessing that 'KC Learned' is the knock correction learn value, which if positive is good, meaning that the ecu's knock correction is adding timing, not pulling it. there is however much, much more to the subaru knock control strategy than just that one number. i can log positive kclv while simultaneously pulling timing in either of the other two correction modes (kc and flkc).

to really see the 'whole picture' on knock control you need to look at the iam (it should be 1, always, if not you are in 'coarse correction' mode pulling timing across the board and something is wrong), flkc (they should be close to zero in every cell, though a -1 here or there isn't terrible), fbkc and the aforementioned kclv.

basically the IAM is coarse correction, the 'nuclear option', it pulls timing out of the advance map across the board, as a percentage (where total timing = base timing + (iam * advance) + corrections + compensations). flkc is 'fine learning knock correction'. this is broken into load/rpm cells and is applied over time, but this mode is only entered when load is relatively stable (not changing quickly). you'll never see positive values in flkc unless your iam is less than 1, which means something is already wrong, so only expect small negative values here if any. fbkc is 'feedback knock correction', or instantaneous corrections applied from feedback from the knock sensor. this is the 'default' operating mode for knock correction when conditions aren't met for one of the other modes.

that's just my relatively limited understanding of how it works, i could be missing bits and pieces.

Great!
Thank you so much - your kind explanation is much much more than i knew about all those correction features/principles by now. The German cars i owned last 15 years didnot require any tunes as they had quite enough of NA power,
but with this one i have to start to learn new tricks (and more specific English words and abbreviations), what is a bit difficult way for the old dog...

Thank you again, man!

I know this is probably a silly question, but I didn't see it listed in the picture, and I didn't see any mention of it.

Will it be possible to monitor engine oil temps using the OFT? I know this may not be that important to some, and I do have Torque Pro if not, but I like to be able to know when I can switch from babying the car to getting on the gas. It would also be useful to monitor the oil temps on track days for those that track their cars (which I plan on starting in the Spring).

Not a silly questions at all. In the near future we will expand logging options so that the user can chose (from a much larger list) to monitor up to 13 channels at a time. This will mean scrolling through a list of available channels and choosing which ones you want to make active. Oil temp will certainly be one of them.

Cheers,
Shiv

I think what it means is he's going to be releasing his own UEL header

It sounds like a Vishnu tuning header.

We have been working on a header for some time now. Makes sense since we have tested so many of them on the dyno (on the same car). It's performing well and I think everyone will be happy with the price point once it's ready to ship. Can't say much more than that at this time

Insane. I know its preliminary development but do you suspect they will be offering a catted version?

We have only done testing/development on a catless header. I'll have pics/dynos/info to post soon. And we should have units to ship within a month. And OpenFlash Tablet customers will be able to purchase it (at a heavy discount) for around $520 give or take
