The OFT will ask you to recalibrate the screen from time to time by touching the small calibration boxes. The reason it is freezes after this is because you are probably trying to calibrate with your finger. For calibration, you will need to use a stylus or else it will never never be satisfied and it will stay in this mode. You can also use a ball point pen but make sure you press gently so you don't damage the screen. That's it!

Has there been any confirmation that these maps will fix the gear change knocking that is (allegedly) causing the DI seal failures? I don't have an interest in an aftermarket tune..but my dealer would not agree to update the ECU software unless there is a specific problem, so it seems that doing it myself is the only method. Shiv, can you confirm (with an actual log) that the gear shift knocking is reduced/eliminated with your tunes?

I can confirm that our latest OTS maps are based on the latest A01 ROMs which incorporate the OEM DI seal (fix). You can see this by just looking at the transient ignition retard and rpm threshold tables. Can't get more conclusive than that!

I mostly bought the OpenFlash for this reason as well. The transient ignition retard tables are IDENTICAL to the factory reflash tables that have the "DI fix". As for logging, OpenFlash only got this capability two days ago and it still cannot log to file. So unless you have insanely fast eyes and are able to watch the OpenFlash graph, you won't see "proof" of this fix until the rest of the datalogging is enabled, or through another vendor's datalogging.

Shiv, I understand that it includes the factory fix. However, based on the discussions from a few other members, even vehicles with the latest ROMs are still having DI failures. Sure, some may have already been damaged with the previous tunes but I'm not convinced the latest tune is 100% effective. That's why I was curious if you were able to log knock or had any datalogs showing that the transient knock had been mitigated. I was an early adopter of some of your old evo VIII parts and was happy with them, but with the FRS being a company car for me, I would just like to make sure it'll be reliable in the long run.

Out of curiosity, do you know what build dates had the A01 rom?

most cars after Jan 2013 have the new ROM. If you use a bluetooth ODB adapter and the android app Torque, you can check your ECU and determine if you have the fix.

Also in regards to vehicles "with the fix" failing, are you referring to vehicles that were given the fix later or which came from the factory with the fix?

If you're referring to the former, seal degradation may have already occurred before the fix was applied. If you're referring to the latter, could you send me some links for these? via PM or posted here would be fine.

But if you go with an OFT and experience DI failure (which is very unlikely), you can always flash back to stock and receive normal warranty service. there's no way that OFT will affect your company car's longevity negatively unless you make some sort of drastic, unsafe alteration to your tune.

^^Thanks for the feedback. For the vehicles discussed in the DI failure threads, I am not sure if they were post Jan.'13 build date or were reflashed. I'll click through that again and see if anyone posted anything, or PM a few of the members.

Sadly I have an iphone, not an android...You wouldn't happen to know if that torque app does the same thing, would you?

Just got my OFT today and very excited to flash - just curious, is there any error logs or discussion regarding 1.33b (noticed some users discussing knocking in previous posts)? I'm debating whether to go with the beta or 1.31.

Thanks!

Unless you are running low grade fuel, there will be no knocking issues with any of our maps. My suggestion is to go with the lastest map version (v1.33b). I'm about to remove the beta status

I'm still running 1.31 because 1.33 was weird for me. But most people don't seem to be having any issues with 1.33. I'm going to wait until CSV logging is fully implemented before going to 1.33. That way if I was crazy hearing things, I'll see good logs and feel fine. Or maybe I just happened to have a bad bit of gas...who knows!

Is Shiv about to be our new sugar daddy? I haven't even tried this new fangled corn juice and I can already tell I'm going to love it like a fat kid loves cake.
