My fat first Gen ps3 died due to ylod back in January 2011, and I got a ps3 slim as a replacement. Haven't had issues on speed there.

To be fair, bandwidth requirements for everything have skyrocketed since 2008 when that ps3 bundle you got came out, so having speed issues on it after this long doesn't surprise me. That that's your only major issue, though, does. That's one long-running ps3, so talk about an excellent unit.

There was actually a trick to make it download like it should and that was to disable the connect to media server setting(I think that was what it was). I disabled that and never had any issues with download drops or excessive slowness.

I was lucky enough to get a PS4 today. If I can't sell it on craigslist or eBay in the next few weeks then most likely ill crack it open and start playing.

I could be wrong, but it seems Sony has put a lot of effort into making sure inventory is available given the X1 goes on sale next week. Not sure you are going to make any profit on this round.

The GameStop where I picked up my son's pre-order said they still had a dozen or more non-preorder on hand, and more coming in, and this was after 6PM ET today after they had what they called a 'very busy' day.

Order patiently waiting for its owner to come home and open it.

Yeah I got mine at Costco this morning. Didn't have to wait in line. Just took a friend with me and walked up and bought 2 of them. I'm really liking the looks of Need For Speed Rivals. That's what has me tempted to open it

Picked mine up last night at midnight. No issues at all with my machine. But man, PSN is a lonely place coming from my list of Xbox friends.

It wobbles if you push down on the shiny side, yeah. The feet are staggered on the bottom. In normal use, no big deal.

I tried wifi, and sometimes was so bad that signal would drop. Then I tried a hard line, and while it didn't drop, it wasn't any faster. Chalk it up to having an older PS3 model and a horrible network card or something (I have the fat one that came with the MGS4 bundle). It was a nightmare that killed any motivation to want to buy or play new games. 360 updated almost instantaneously, if not then 30 sec to a minute at the most.

Just my experience.
I was hit or miss with the 360. Sometimes it would update instantly, and sometimes it'd take forever. 60/4 connection on my side on a good day, so I know it wasn't the internet.

I updated the PS4 via flash drive. I got everything set up last night, reprogrammed the Harmony remote so it'd set the correct inputs on the TV and speakerbar, and then at about 1:15AM I was finally set to go... and my internet died so I couldn't get into PSN or anything. I was exhausted anyway, so I went to bed.

Meant to play all day today and that didn't happen at all. I ended up having to adjust the network because my router failed so I had to get a new one, and then spent the day with my wife and kid. I've played a bit of Rez0gun, which is a blast, Warframe, and NFS Rivals. I haven't found any accounts of NFS having framerate issues but I have noticed it drop here and there. Not enough to kill the experience, but noticeable. I'm about to go hit up some Battlefield 4 and Killzone. I'll miss Forza for now, but hell if I don't love this thing already!

It doesn't get used much, to be honest. Besides a bluray player and a few exclusive titles, it collects dust most of the time. My primary gaming device has been the 360 since 2005.

Opposite situation for me. Except for a select # of titles, my 360 collects dust. My primary gaming & movie watching device is my ps3 (now the ps4).

I give up been trying to get it working non stop. Replacement is the only way. I hope they have one to replace it with. But I think I have to mail it back to sender.

Got my PS4 from Best Buy today (pre-ordered). Also got some games through Target buy 2 get 1 free promo (only see 5 because I bought a second Battlefield 3 for a friend), a extra controller, and a charger. They're all sitting in front of the TV right now... I'd be tearing it up if I wasn't going to Car and Coffee tomorrow. Time to hit the bed. lol

Can confirm the wobble, although its no big deal. It's like they intended to include some corner feet on it and didn't.

Other than that PeggySue4 (yes, we name everything) is up and running playing Killzone as I write this. It took longer to get it out of the box then to get it hooked up (HDMI/Network/Power and good to go). Softtware update took another 3 to 5 minutes.

I love that it doesn't have an external brick for a power supply.

They're probably going to be sold as accessories in a month or 2. Labeled as PS4 "stabalizers". LOL

The framerate hiccups I saw on NFS seemed to go away, so maybe they were just part of the game intro.. dunno.

Played Killzone for an hour and a half or so. Didn't get very far. I put it on medium, and now I remember why I use mouse+keyboard for shooters haha. I'm terrible.
