E85 maps? That's obvious. Think bigger

We did. By increasing OFT manufacturing by 300% this month in preparation.

Then the next obvious guess is data logging!

Hi Shiv!
Would like to mention that on our side of the globe we don't have E85 available at all and don't need any child toys as FFS (why the hell? This is not a dragster of any kind, it feels good on the curved tracks, not on the straights unless it is FI... And even it is FI, straight racing seems boring as there is nothing depends on the driver) and auto-blip. But still waiting for the updates in terms of general performance (power, torque and handling).
Loving it in advance (specially for promised softer rev limiter).

One question remained - just WHEN?!

Cheers,
=))

Yep, definitely looking forward to that $195 custom tune! I'm just wondering how Vishnu will have the time to handle so many customers. I imagine the Vishnu shop as being Wal-Mart, and all us end user folks as the suckers buckling in the doors on the morning of the legendary Black Friday sales. Just change "Black Friday sale" to "data logging capability," and there you go haha. Looking forward to the riot.

I want logging just to ensure my engine is running well and free from knocking.

Agree Vishnu is going to be overwhelmed by log files once the remote tuning floodgate opens.

BTW, the 1.33 beta stage 1 works great on my car with a TRD intake (I haven't had time to do the snorkel mod yet)
for your benefit, I think the $195 would be well worth it.

I would not do it, timing advance would be far more than should be safe considering you are cramming air in a motor thats 12.5:1 compression I believe and most factory boosted motors are 9:1 or under.

It's completely safe to install an SC without a base tune, I just wouldn't recommend driving it.

auto blip is a waste of programming time. people should learn to heel toe or just let off the brake to rev match. that time could be better used for map making lol

Quick question that probably doesn't have a quick answer:

I live at 4600ft above sea level and often drive to locations at or above 8000ft. Altitude affects my performance somewhat. How much can I do with an OFT tune to help negate that? What would need to change on the maps developed in CA?

One of my biggest reasons for going OpenFlash is the idea that I could alter the tunes for altitude since there aren't too many tuners in my area.

Maybe I am wrong but most vehicles have a table or a few written to handle the changes in altitude and monitor that change via sensors like a Baro sensor etc. I would think that you would be fine.

However with the heights you're mentioning I would at least want to be able to data log and ensure there was not an issue. I am sure Shiv can be more specific to this setup then I can as my knowledge comes from other systems.

Fortunately, the ECU uses a MAF sensor for all load referencing. This means that it reads the actual mass airflow that passes through the engine. So it automatically compensates for changes in ambient pressure and temp. So there is really not much compensation going on. Mostly just for emissions related start-up.

Cheers

Beautiful. I knew we had that lovely MAF sensor, but wasn't sure if it was referenced all the time for all of the load. That's great to know. I still feel a difference with elevation though. Looks like I'll just be stuck with that! At least I know the tune will be safe!

Thanks for being so responsive all the time Shiv. You're the man.
