I also know the tires themselves vary, and find the PSS tires to be a bit wider than others in the same size. The PSS in 215 was a bit wider than the OEM Primacy HP 215 tires.
There's some pics of our car with 225 Rivals on 17x9 WedsSport wheels.

It'll depend on the tire you pick, but the RS3 is a "wide" tire. It'll be technically stretched, but it won't be terrible.

I have 17x9 +35 Weds on my car with 245/40 Federals and I don't rub at all. (Except under load in the rear a bit.) I'm also pretty low all around with -4 camber up front and -3.3 camber in the rear..

Kinda curious about this faster with 225's thing that Mike is talking about though...

Can you post those pics if you don't mind?

Can you tell me where specifically the rear tire is rubbing under load? Is that under track conditions?

I'd have to check, because I can't quite figure out where it does, but I do know that it does...

I've only taken spirited backroad cruises in the car...

17x9 with 245's. No rubbing what so ever. Still on stock struts with Hotchkis springs.

Ok cool, sounds like it might be making contact with the fender liner under load, especially with that drop. I'm just hoping not to rub on the fenders themselves more than anything.
