I went to the dark side

I replaced my FRS with a 13 Camaro 1LE

I have a set of Enkei RPF1 17x7 ET42 wheels and Dunlop Z2 225/45/17 tires. $800 plus shipping if anyone is interested.

I am going back to my roots. Missed the torque and power too much.

After taking the depreciation hit, the price of the new car and taxes on the new car, would it not have been cheaper to get that power you craved from a PD SC or Turbo on the FRS?

That looks like good fun. Nice looking car, too.

Dark side?

Nah. I reckon both cars on the FUN SIDE!

I'd be interested in your thoughts following the first weeks of ownership after your FR-S.

Dark side would have been a Miata or gen coupe.

Actually I didn't take too much of a hit. Traded for $9,495 difference on a car that stickered for $37,035. The car was a special event car that Chevrolet had on display at Camaro Fest. Had 170 miles on it when I picked it up.

As far as a comparison goes it's kind of comparing apples to oranges. The Camaro is huge in comparison both in size and weight, but with the 1LE package drives a lot smaller than it is. I'll probably be doing quite a few track events and autocrossing with it.

I loved the FRS but was never really happy with the car for autocross. My driving style probably had a lot to do with it. I've always been much more successfull driving higher powered cars that pull hard out of a corner. Guess I'm more of a point and shoot driver compared to a momentum one.

There's night and day difference between the SS and the 1LE. They engineered a ton of understeer out of the 1LE stealling a bunch of suspension parts from the ZL and running 285/35/20 tires front and rear rather than 305's in the back. 10" and 11" wide wheels from the ZL1. Close ratio tranny, short shifter and 3.91 rear gears.
