I enjoy seeing modified cars from Europe. I always envision everyone drives a fiat panda or VW golf diesel at or below the speed limit because of petrol prices and speed cameras.

Thank you. I was a bit unsure of them too when I got them but wanted thoss wheels for the light weight and decent price. Definitely grown on me now though.

Ha, thanks! I think it's quite true for most cars over here although the UK isn't quite as bad as mainland Europe I don't think. I've always tuned my cars though - it was a tuned VW Scirocco before.

Fitted the stock wheels with winter tyres on back on the car. Tyres are Nokian WRA3's which I've used before and found to be excellent.

Had the car mapped at Abbey Motorsport on Friday (which Abbey very kindly had donated as a karting prize at the UK national meet).

I have to say Abbey were excellent and a total pleasure to deal with.

I've attached the graphs below - the fainter line is the before and the darker the after which Mark achieved after several hours of fettling.

As you can see Mark managed to find 13hp and 10lbft extra but what you can really feel is the extra area under the graph all over especially around the 3-5k rpm range where I spend most of my 'normal' driving time.

Mark has also quietened down the exhaust at start up a little (although I feel my neighbours would appreciate more!)

Map 1 has a softened throttle response which I'm not massively keen on at present but I can imagine being very useful in snow, etc
Map 2 is full fat, normal throttle
Map 3 has launch control, rev blipping and flat foot shifting as well as what map 2 has
Map 4 is for low octane fuel use

My car has a catback exhaust and hks drop in filter so obviously bigger gains would be found with more mods (like second cat removed). The map doesn't make a massive difference to how the car drives (not like my last twincharged car where the map gained about 50hp and similar torque) but it definitely adds extra 'sharpness' to the car and is definitely noticeable in day to day driving.

Again big thanks to Mark and all at Abbey Motorsport.

No it was the map that lost some power at low RPM for an increase higher up.

Final couple of updates.

Ordered and fitted the TRD door stabiliser kit. Difference is small but noticeable - car definitely seems a little sharper

Also fitted a HT Autos front lip spoiler:-
