If the FRS has HIDS for an option I'd imagine he'd still buy one. I signed up for first 86 and my purchase would have depended on which options were available.

Lol. Yea the ones closest to the window turn pink and the ones on the inside stay red. I'm sorry, but that red is just way too "boyish" for me.

Probably not but not everyone tints windows. I generally don't myself but probably will this time just for the uv protection. I'll probably install clear tint or a very slight tint.

I agree. I'm not gonna go super dark if I go with tints. Just something to help with the UV. Maybe something like 30%-35%.

I'm waiting for full options list and pricing ... but my main decision is between getting an frs because I love the front bumper, and getting a brz because I LOVEEE the blue.

I wish we could get the full red and black seats like on the japanese 86 leather or alcantra versions. I really liked those and if you have tints and you take care of the accents they wont turn pink I've had cloth bucket sparco seats before for years and they never turned or changed colors.

Yes, HIDs really makes a difference at night. Also it makes the car looks more expensive.

it is highly highly unlikely that there will be any options on the frs. Scion has never sold a car yet with options. Its one car fits all and then all the dealer accessories you want. To my knowledge, hids have never been offered as a dealer accessory by scion.

for what it is worth, the scion rep speaking to the media at the Chicago auto show Thursday told me there would be no options and I specifically asked about hids. I figure she would have mentioned them if those were going to be available.

I'm slightly brand specific (I'll admit it. I don't like the scion brand even though I could easily just take off the badge).

BRZ Premium
The exterior of the BRZ appeals to me more. I find it much more classy with a devious smiley face than the aggressive FRS look.

The interior HVAC appeals to me more. LOOK AT THAT CENTER CONSOLE. lol

Oh and the HIDs help me see at night. My eyes absorb an extensive amount of light which really hurts my eyes (somethings wrong with my retina) and at night I'd like to be able to see all the upcoming potholes as well as some really poorly lit areas.

Meh, there are enough disadvantages of HIDs. I did some comparisons with a buddy that has an STI w/HIDs. I'd prefer my current Subaru projectors with some H7 rallye+65 bulbs over those, due to better color rendering and distance vision.

HIDs sure do light well right in front of the car, which is really useful in the city, but decent fog lights can do that job equally well.

D/k, maybe they will just take some getting used to, but HIDs aren't a deal-maker for me at this point. They might be, but to know that I'd have to compare them to FR-S projectors.

I agree. I was just explaining why the other poster signed up for first 86. I've said or a long time now that scion wouldn't offer what people wanted if they expected options to make a frs like a brz limited.
