the DI seal and popping solution?

So is there an actual fix for the DI seal and popping noise? I have seen people mention that it was fixed via a pcm update from the dealer. I haven't actually heard of a "better seal", but I have heard of people changing the seal out and the popping being gone. Would the DI problem be non existent with the new flash and the new seals if someone were to already have the DI seal issue?

Any input would be fantastic. thanks!

From my understanding the updated tune fixes the issue from occurring. The only way to know you have damage already though is to take out the seals and replace them or you are having symptoms.

So if you don't have symptoms, flash new tune and

The thing is not sure if you can just walk in the dealer and ask for ECU update. If you get an aftermarket tune it should work as well.

ya i currently have the popping in very rare occasions and start up which I'm sure I have. I am doing further performance upgrades to my car in terms of my forced induction so i'm at the point if I should do the seal replacements and assume everything should be ok with the updated tune. but thank you!

I'd def hit up the dealer before you turbo if you got popping. It should be under the 5 year/60k warranty so you got some time. Get the new seals then mod.

oh trust me, my warranty was done and done since about 2k on the car haha. i've been bosted since lol

If you are currently boosted then the tune fix should already be on your car assuming you are ecutek tuned. Tuners have had the fix for a while. Doesn't fix it after damage is already present though so you may need to replace the injectors anyway if you're having issues. Check with your tuner on the tune fix though....

If you could give a care less, that means that you care at least some. If you didn't care at all then it would be impossible to care less because you can not care less than none.

i.e. using an integer only scale of "care", you would score at least 1, but not 0.

My tune is the updated one and quite honestly it isn't as bad as it was before the update, but regardless I will be replacing the seals with my upgrades and crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen again.

I know of 2 people with the supposed EcuTek "fix", have their seals pop. Me being one of them. I had 2 seals go out before the "fix". I updated my tune with the EcuTek "fix", and STILL had 2 more seals disintegrate on me.

I use quotes around "fix", because I personally don't think the "fix" did jack to help this issue. I'm sure you know who the 2nd person is, but I don't feel I should comment on that.

I sometimes have popping noise in the morning but other members tell me that thats normal

basically a pop. You can't miss it. You'll hear it on start up or while under load accelerating or when you blip the throttle to downshift. It's intermittent but you can't miss it.
