Onboard logging to SD card has been available on the OP2 for years now - I've used it extensively on my STI. Logs at CAN speed, 10X faster than K-Line, and even slightly faster than the -fast-poll function on Romraider.

Is everything accessible with SSM over CAN? I have been wondering this... I was trying to get SSM working over CAN last night but had a bit of a mistake in my math and ended up just wasting all of my time. GGRR!

There seems to be a confusion over wether or not you can access everything as when most people say "can" they are expecting the standard canbus pid's and not SSM over can. I cant find much reference over what can actually be read or not with this method. I know the poll rate is amazingly quick though. I am just wondering if its select memory addresses only?

I thought it was still being worked on but started seeing mention of people logging. They must be using the BRZ edit logger

I have to admit a degree of ignorance on this side - the person to speak to would be Dale (DSchultz) on the RR forums - he's basically the lead developer on the Romraider editor and logger. I do know that direct reading of parameters required a patch of the rom (implemented in Ecuflash).

I have some amtel IC's and a few raspberry pi's that i have been working with (i cant make up my mind what i want to use). I'm new to this whole bit... but once I catch up on some work I plan on putting quite a bit of time into it. I really couldn't find much for taking say an arduino and polling SSM. I am at least assuming this car is using some sort of variant of SSM...
wouldn't an out-of-the-box chinese cable that's sold with TIS work for logging? something like this: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D6BA082/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3V4X6R6A RGKRK"]Amazon.com: MINI-VCI J2534 TOYOTA TIS CABLE: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame]
they say it supports CAN and K/L lines? I think I have seen somewhere on ebay they provide api for the driver?

This is also a good resource: http://www.drewtech.com/support/J2534/index.html, since the OP2 uses the J2534 protocol (and DrewTech wrote most of it).

no. they're far too slow to provide anything useful for logging, and most of the tools only support the openport.

interesting, according to this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E7tBXDkexY"]Disassembly of the fake mini VCI cable - YouTube[/ame] it's nxp arm7 60 MHz 32 bit microprocessor, which should be fairly fast.

i'm thinking if kill $25 cable i wouldn't be as disappointed as killing $170 cable

They're not fast enough. Trust me. I tried it.
