I have seen that video a few times over the years. I can't forget how the dude giggles after he stomps on it. If not for that moment, I would say it was fake.

It's been done plenty of times in the UK but I still enjoy seeing examples of successful swaps.

The most popular/cheapest method is to swap the floorpan of a Ford Sierra, sometimes even a Sierra Cosworth.
For those that like V8s, we have those. But they're much more expensive.

It's because so many already are.

1986 Suzuki Swift GTi hatchback.

It had 101hp 1.3L engine on a chassis that weighed in at 1840ish lbs. RWD on that little sucker would have been fun. Also had a good wishbone front suspension setup.

Love those cars! But i think they should've been awd for a beastly light rally car.

I think AWD would have sapped all life from that engine.

RWD would have been better. Remember the old Subaru Justy's with AWD?

Great little car but was too heavy and cumbersome to be decent for rallying. We had one growing up but the AWD would literally suck the life out of that engine. I remember going up a mountain and that engine would strain so hard going up we had to stop every 400m going uphill to allow it to cool off.

Although keep in mind, we did have it loaded with 4 people...

The conversion is actually pretty rare. There are over a million foci in the US. But there might be a few dozen that are RWD.

I figured someone would have said this one already:
My previous car. Plenty of power and fun to drive, but torque steer was a bitch. Especially after I got the GMS1 upgrade (280HP/320TQ). I mean, there is the Pontiac Solstice GXP and Saturn Sky Redline, but I think the Cobalt should have had a RWD option as well.

However, if it was RWD, I am not sure I would be in my BRZ just yet. I miss boost

I would love it if 05 STI's came RWD.. Yes, you could convert it, but that's just more expenditures on top of the car...

As much as I love RWD, I'm not sure I agree with this. The Aventador has one of most brutal, most aggressive AWD systems out there, and because of that, one of the best 0-60 times. RWD would take away from the brutish acceleration. Plus, Carlos from Motor Trend talked about how easy it was for this car to oversteer even with sticky tires and AWD.

Honda Prelude, CRX, Integra Type R, most Volkswagens, Mini Cooper S, and Mitsubishi Eclipse and 3000GT (at least if they made the non-AWD models RWD instead of FWD).
