I took my BRZ into the dealership and they fixed that under warranty.

I think the auto dim is a god send. After I lowered my car, I noticed how many cars are shining their headlights right on my mirror.

other than my weekend fun cars (track 240, nsx, etc...) this is the first car i've driven in a LONg time with no auto dimming mirrors. felt like everyone had their brights on. will be my next mod for sure! be sure to spend a few bucks extra for the model that has the homelink buttons for your garage.

there's just a tiny wire that runs up to the roof cover. it plugs right in to a harness thats already there by the dome light. just pop out the dome light and you'll find an extra harness there. voila!

It's really easy. Just pop the dome light assembly and look inside for wire harness. It's just plug & play. Follow the instruction for mounting it though.

The auto dim mirrors do not block enough light as compared to the manual mirror.

Was this done at the dealership with an OEM part or did you purchase an aftermarket mirror and have someone install it? I am very interested in making this investment as I have an FR-S

Purchased with my car, from the dealership. Pretty sure it is the mirror from the FT-86/BRZ.

I disagree with that entirely. Mine gets black enough that I can look straight at the headlight and make out details of the reflector. Sometimes, it is too dark.

There's a new adapter plate from Subaru that fixes that problem. It's loose because it's starting to strip.
