Got a call from the Subaru dealer today. Some of my parts came in but some are back ordered. Be another week at least until I get a final total for this oil cooler. And reading the main thread there looks like there is a couple of additional parts I could order to make it look even more like a factory install.

We shall see!

But all I can remember is you leaving me in the dust on the 417 on our way home from the cruise. Pretty impressive indeed. @#$$ that Dyno.

Well that is the base tune. After smaller pulley and some proper tuning we should get some better numbers. I should know by the end of the day

Deets? Vortech running smaller pulley? 91, 94?

I think the numbers are respectable, but not sure how much more the smaller pulley is supposed to give you though.
Isn't the base kit about 250 whp? You're at 265?

Keep in mind that all dyno are not created equal. Back in the day, Mustang's would give highest numbers and Dynojet's would be realistic or a bit less.

I see the dyno correction factor in there, but not sure if that is to correct for sea-level.

However, your torque number seems really low at 178?

The benefit to this system is that the oil warms and cools in sync with the engine coolant. So your oil warms up faster on cold days and still cools down through the coolant. Unless you're tracking the car extensively, this would be the better system to have.

And I would like to see temp data and compare both before I make a call that one is better than the other for cooling at the track.

In logging coolant and oil temps in just city driving recently, I notice there is a big crossover of temps. Once the oil finally heats up to match coolant, it then exceeds the coolant temps from that point on and stays quite a bit higher.

I was seeing oil temps of 105 deg while my coolant was still in the low 90's while sitting in traffic.

That was me.

I saw you turn on to Carling from Moodie a few cars ahead of me so timed the light and went into the right lane so that I could get behind you before it merged into the single lane.

I'm adding a sharkfin to my Xmas list because of you BTW.

EDIT: Not completely stock as I'm running on OFT tune. Definitely makes the car drive better.

Nice!

you work in the tech park too?

yeah a shark fin really cleans things up in the looks dept. mine is the VG but not sure i would recommend it, its not bad but the base is really wide.
if it was still prime summer M&M season I would say come check out what all the guys have to compare before buying one.
how they look online vs. in person is a big difference, to me anyway.

I think a few of us have been dreaming of the OFT... I need some kind of exhaust first so ill keep dreaming for now

I'm running 94 which was the most surprising part. Just got a call from lachute about the final numbers after there tuning on there "heart breaker" dyno. All I have to say is it didn't break my heart! I will post the updated chart once they email it to me.

Yep, I'm in the Stealth building.

I have only looked at the BeatSonic shark fin so far, but I'll see if I can find some side by side. Thanks for the heads up.

I noticed in one of your other posts that you have the 205/55 Toyo winters on the allow rims. I've got the same setup. How did you find them last winter?

The OFT is definitely worth it. My next big decision is whether to take the car to the track next year. That will mean brakes+lines, tires, helmet, etc.

Other that than, I will likely keep the car fully stock. I'm already driving it too fast as it is.

I will go. I am pretty sure this will be the last Friday, before I put the car away for the winter. Let me know if you are seriously going.
