That's because its wrong. The BRZ or FR-S for that matter does not have LoJack even as an option unless the dealer chose to do it, which I would be surprised if they did it without a customer asking for it.

Yup. Turning on the rear defroster also turns on the heaters in the mirrors.

We bought a $40K+ vehicle that does not have keyless/push button. Never again. I cannot believe how many times I get in that vehicle and then realize I have to dig the keys out of my pocket to start the car... It sounds so trivial, but with three young kids it is a great feature....

That alone is worth $1K to me!

On the door handles and around the radio, there is silver trim in the FR-S and BRZ Limited. On the BRZ Premium, it is all black. I know it is minor, but I prefer the way the Premium is. Personal choice, of course.

Disclaimer: I got the limited.

I'd say go for the limited unless the price is a deal-breaker for you. It really depends on your budget, but I can't think of any downsides to going with the higher trim level. Things like heated seats / mirrors aren't things you're going to add yourself later, and even if you don't need the cold weather stuff, the nicer interior and keyless entry/start are things you can enjoy wherever you go.

On the other hand, if you live somewhere warm and the extra 2k is going to have you waiting months to do whatever mods you want to do and/or buy the car at all, just get a premium.

The most suprising featuer of the keyless start is that the interior lights up at night when I walk by the car without touching her at all, and does dim when I walk away from the car. This feature makes it seem like she is almost alive, waiting for me, pretty neat..

Hmmm, never realized that the Premium came with those pieces black from the factory. Looks like you got the vent trim rings too. That's a little bizarre, since those pieces are silver on the FR-S. I never noticed that before, and I even read the whole "black buttons" thread - guess most of the people doing interior stuff are in a FR-S or BRZ Limited, because nobody said "Hey, if you've got a Premium, you don't need to order these 6 parts to do the black conversion". Wasn't listed on cars101.com's BRZ page either, and that dude is thorough.

Have to admit that it irks me a bit that the FR-S comes with a better shift knob, and the Premium comes with partial black trim.

It really isn't that simple. It comes down to what features do you want/like.

Heated seats, mirrors, climate control, etc. are cool, I guess. But I am fine without it and to me I rather keep that money in my pocket.

And the biggest thing that put me off is one feature was actually a negative to me and made it a deal breaker. Alcantara. I only wanted fabric seats (no leather or fancy material).

The only thing I wanted was the spoiler so I bought it as an accessory.

I went with the premium because I didn't like the limited seats and it was slightly out of my price range.

I did the black Interior on my premium. Cost under $100 because half of my bits were already black
