However, you go WOT and the extra exhaust noise from the removal of the primary cat along with the additional intake sound from the snorkle mod sounds aggressive without being obnoxious. Under hard acceleration especially through the mid range band it produces that deep Boxer rumble. Not loud but a louder, more refined than factory tone and sound level. I'm so content with the setup that I added some exhaust tips on the stock muffler and consider my exhaust system complete.
This is exactly what I was hoping for. Sounds like the stocker aint that bad if the goods in front of it are improved (headers).

I'll chime in on this cause I was running my uel headers on a stock exhaust for about a week or so. Also did a track day like that (noise restrictions) and I didn't like it at all. Compared to running it with my muffler delete, it loses all of its rumble and character. The other guys I went to the track with were teasing me asking if I even had a header.

Maybe it's just me, but it was way too quiet, and way too stock sounding. The stock muffler killed any nice sounds from the header.

So again... huh?
Price of the system is expected to be around 1500

It acts more like NOS than anything else, which if you're into that type of short term burst of power, to each his own. I think a more fair price should be $999. For $1,400 you can stay NA, still gain 40 whp, and still spend less. Moreover, that +40 whp is at your disposal at any time, while the Phantom's is only at your disposal every charge, which only last around 1 minute. To me,@ $999 it better competes with other power options (not including full FI kits) and feels more balanced when I begin to compare options, which everyone will inevitably do.

**edited to clarify something I wrote which came out confusing to me.
No 1400 dollar NA system will be able to "beat" the esc. Its all about area under the curve. Yes a FINE tuned e85 NA tune plus header back exhaust can output 200whp.... from 7000 to 7500. The rest of the time the ESC is producing about 180tq compared to about 140 to 150 na. We have raced a full bolt on 93octane tune FRS vs the ESC from 3500 rpm.... it isn't pretty.

Im not saying it is for everyone but it is alot of punch for a pretty fairly low price. Yes it runs out after 1.30minute of constant boost... but on the street it just isn't possible to hit that barrier. 1 minute of acceleration from a standing start ends you at about 250km/hr....aka jail time

While its doing all this it isnt making anymore noise than stock.... no loud rasp or drone on the highway..... yes thats a downside for some that want the turbo spool and whatnot but for everyone else there is exhaust and a sweet sweet sound after that.

You bring up a great point I never really thought about, thanks. If you wouldn't mind, can you edit and re-quote me in your post above lol? I made my response nicer :]

I would really like to see a head-to-head of a s2000 vs. FRS with the specs you provided.

I think this helps put NA vs FI in perspective as well. It did for me at least. After seeing this, NA seems like a more sensible way to go at least for now.
Here is the FRS vs i believe a AP1

Nope... Nothing so far. Then again, 10k miles is really not that much.

that is almost 5 times more miles driven on e85 than I have come across. Max miles in the posts I have seen are people running e85 for around 2-3,xxx miles.

Bonus. 200 whp + ESC = 240 whp. There is something to think about. All for the price of still less than 50% a decent FI kit. A sort of hybrid NAFI makeshift kit - too awesome

That's why I said 'huh' when you said it was overpriced earlier. It is way cheaper than other FI options, and is getting close to the same power numbers as some of the lower end SC and TC kits out there. Also, like Fenton said, the boost can last for a while before the battery depletes, and then it doesn't take very long for the battery to recharge. Quite a bit different than nitrous in that regard... although only coming on under WOT does give it some similarities to nitrous too.

Anyway, sorry guys... didn't mean to derail this thread away from the awesome tuning and discussion that Shiv is providing via the OFT.

Any plans for a type of flex fuel kit on the OFT? I don't live close enough to a station to run it all year around without having to fill up at a normal gas station sooner or later.

E85 has a pretty bad image in LA. "Rumors" say it isn't good for smaller engines and boat motors. Probably the biggest reason we don't have many stations. Being in bed with big oil doesn't hurt either.
