With your horrible language skills I just assumed you were in high school... Is it that hard to type "And" and "No"? (As apposed to Naw, N, etc). I fail to see why the youth think it makes them look "cool" typing like this. When in fact it just makes it difficult to understand what the hell you are trying to say.

Sorry to hear you stopped in the road and got smashed. That really sucks. But at least you have insurance! Maybe next time dont say "Naw man.... i ain't stopped in 'dat road. I was moving to 'dat right lane right d'ere.". The officer is going to likely take sides with the person who isn't talking like a white rapper.

I don't know how to respond. LOL. Much better though! But seriously that scenario sucks, sorry for your loss. Hopefully the insurance just totals it. It makes me cringe when they want to fix something that was 90% of the way towards "totaled" status.

Its cool.

So update on my car. About 4.3k in damages, but they are looking inside because I guess the interior got damaged inside also due to the fendor being pushed so far in. About a two week wait I guess.

New update: only cosmetic damage done. Grand total is 8400. Car estimate return time is by Dec. 4
Hopefully I get it back sooner though and thank god for insurance....
Although neither my insurance or the other drivers insurance has been able to get a hold of the other driver... Lol much?

Hm, $8,400 is a lot, I'm surprised they didn't total it. You should've took the mallet from http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1305466 and roughed up the car a little more. I kid of course.

There usually has to be a 50% loss in value to total the car. You better make sure they are not low balling somewhere to make sure it's fixable so they can make money. Body shops are crooks.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I've seen higher too - some companies require 70-80%. Well anyways, since they're working on it and insurance is paying out, don't hesitate to bring it back to the shop as many times as needed.

^ this.

Also remember the body shop is working for you. And if your insurance is fixing the car that means they are working for you also. Don't forget to file a diminished value claim also... Because your car is worse less now.....

You can always ask your insurance to get 3 shop quotes. So you know your not getting fucked over. Sometimes it's best to take it to a dealership + 2 different body shops. (this is what I did)

honestly 8400 does sound low because when my last car was crashed, it had less apparent damage but the cost to repair was around 12k.

Do you guys really feel like that is to low of a price? What makes the difference between a higher and lower cost? My insurance policer sent out there own adjuster along with the other drivers inspector. I guess a group of 8 people came to the conclusion. Im still a novice in the car game so all the info you guys are giving back to me is very helpful. I just thought 4.3k in parts then like 3.5k in labor plus my 500 deductible was really steep. But there is a lot of damage and they did say that the car isnt even neared total. Im aware that most body shops are crooks and just want money. All i care about is getting my car back in prestine condition. So my care value just shrunk by like 10k huh?

Yeah, I had a car that was 23k new which had about the same amount if not less physical damage done as your car and the insurance company and collision center both considered it totaled. Granted, the collision center I brought it to was a part of the dealership I bought it form and they probably used OEM component pricing to determine the repair cost. As far as your car's value, probably closer to a 5k decrease rather than 10k.

My car had a $16500 repair bill with less damage then this. I got $8500 for diminished value. Repair time took 6 months.....
