Going in tomorrow to have the Oct. 17th TSB fuel pump done. I'll post results after several miles.

I got mine replaced. 400 miles in, no issues. Driving to Miami for the week... Will report my findings.

How about you read the crickets forum and inform yourself on the permanent fix that came out last month, instead of looking ignorant.

No need to be a douche about it... According to the dealers, there is no permanent fix.

Mine made it until about 1k miles. Here's hoping yours goes far beyond with no issues!

^ That's because you had the old pump installed in August. How about you keep your opinions to yourself and stop trying to spread mis-information.

As for permanent fix, I'm guessing this is it, a sound dampening system. I think Subaru has given up trying to fix Toyota's poor DI design (3 times). Real permanent fix will probably come in 2015 with new Toyota engine in GT86/FRS, and Subaru DI system on the BRZ.

Printed mine out. Going with it to the dealer to confirm these are the parts they have on file and the work being done. Last thing I want is a crappy old part. I already hate the fact that they have to touch my car.

No they don't, plenty of people are keeping the chirpy pump, myself included.

i will do it two years later right before my warranty is gone. reasons being
(1) the cricket might be gone by that time.
(2) subaru/toyota has more experience by that time
(3) i can a brand new pump
it is just fuel pump. does no harm in any other way. my friend's 535 changed pump twice and the car is fine. no worries.

I paid for the 2-day subscription to Subaru's TIS. If anybody wants me to pull anything else off of it before it expires or help me offset the cost, send me a PM.

Hey so everyone understands about this new part number for the pump, I have checked Toyota's parts catalog top and bottom and so far the ONLY part number for the ORIGINAL HPFP is SU003-00328. (I've been with Toyota 9yrs) This new number (SU003-05176) has never been used before until now and again my own dealership just got the first one we have ever installed in a couple weeks back. I'm trying my best not to give you guys bad info on this but I can assure you in the Southeast Region theres no other number. Other regions may use a different number but even so their would/should only be 2 different pumps from the looks of things and whats just been released. Also you can usually look at your paperwork from the time you got your service done and find the part number on the invoice. Check it out and maybe that can help you determine what you have.

Well, keep your chirpy pump. This one is the new part I was waiting for and should fix it for good.

I've got almost 12k miles on my car. Crickets aren't going anywhere unless you change the part on the TSB, or use 0 ethanol gas.

Perform the Subaru Bulletin # 09-54-12R on a customers car last month, car had 8000 miles on, fixed the problem at the moment.
However the bulletin was revised on 10/28/13, and I confirmed the pump has a different part number than previously listed in the bulletin. Now I'm going to order the parts for my car, which according to the bulletin has the countermeasure part already installed. I got the ok from my DSM to go ahead to replace the parts, we'll see how that goes.
