I noticed mine was loose when I first drove my car, so I tightened it by one full rotation and it's now snug. The cap didn't pop off, so there must be some variation in manufacturing tolerances.
That said, I'm not a big fan of how the stock knob feels. The stitching is a bit rough, which is a shame because the knob looks great (IMO).
