Yes, having an FF car or awd car would NECESITATE it more than an FR car, but that does not mean that you would use it less in that situation. C'mon, I can't believe you are going on and on about the touge... ask Micheal Schumacher or Ayrton Senna (if he was still alive) about left foot braking. Last I checked F1 cars are not awd or FF.

Left foot braking is used simple to transfer the weight to the front of the car so it will "tuck in better". You don't "need" to do that in a rwd car, but when you need to reduce corner entry speed and slide the rear end--you know, which you would normally do by applying throttle (hint: faster corner exit speed), there is simply no other more sensible way. You can also use it to prevent a spin.

Kart racers and most open wheel racers use this technique and I think you'd find that drivers who race in series with sequential boxes (most series above the grass roots level) use this technique as well.

A lot of FR drivers in manual cars would heel and toe, but that is a different story altogether.
Ah~ Ayrton Senna... He was amazing driver. As for Michael Schumacher, I'm not sure he's crazy or just good driver. Some times I think he's missing all the screws in the head (specially in rain race).

I might took touge stuff overboard, but I think your examples are way out of our league than mine example. Of course those car use LFB cuz there's no place to use right foot to brake or h&t. Formula drivers and car vs JGTC driver and street legal tuned car, no offense to your example, but I'll take JGTC driver and street legal tuned car example.

K, let me clear this up. I'm not saying FR car never need to use LFB. There are situation that probably better to use LFB than RFB. I'm just saying for FR cars in stock/street tuned (not formula or track only car), driving in the track, it'll have less chance for driver to use LFB... but it's all up to drivers, I guess. BUT for me, when I drive friend's S2k in the track, I sure don't use LFB. While I do use LFB in my Impreza & friend's getto Prelude, when I race it in the track.

So in the end, different situation requires different solution. Leave it as that. :happy0180:

*Edit: I just remember this vid of Ayrton Senna. He's driving NSX. Just amazing driver.

God bless Senna for his death changed motorspots forever!

Schumacher on the otherhand should have called it quits while he was ahead! Trying to make the transition to motorcycle racing... forget about it! A round of applause for trying though!

Rossi racing a Ferrari on the other hand... just shy of lap record!! Money!

Literally!

Regardless of what he does on his on time, as long as he continues to win races, who really gives a shit what his sexual orientation is. The same exact situation with Tiger Woods and all his marital problems. As long as he continues to play golf and win, who cares how many woman he stuck.

Unfortunately the racers always get better gear and better technology!

Since we are not racers, exept for Matador and every day consumers, we get subpar items.

I'm sure any of the helmets that are used in any professional motorsport race are subjected to meet strict impact/strength tests.

$700 helmet!?! That's more than Arai RX7 Corsair and Shoei X-11's. I think its still safe to say it's overrated!

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...erth-shark.htm

But in our opinion, the S1 has some problems. It has been touted as the "ultimate helmet" and "the world's quietest helmet", albeit by a few over-exuberant retailers and not necessarily by Schuberth. But the hype doesn't meet reality, and $700.00 deserves a more critical evaluation than is the case for, say, a $100.00 helmet. The S1 is heavy - the heaviest helmet we've ever reviewed, including flip-up helmets, which are typically heavier due to their operating mechanism.

It also has a massive size, so it feels every ounce of its nearly 4-pound weight. It has a slightly strange fit, sort of a "reverse egg" shape that's narrower on top. And, despite all the hard work that Schuberth has done to keep the helmet quiet, it has a basic flaw. The rearward-facing exhaust vents create a high-pitched whistle that starts around 30 mph and is very annoying. And the S1's complicated "quick release" attachment is not as easy to use as a the simple D-ring system on the Shark RSR.
