Pretty much crash bolts are smaller thickness than stock, which allows for movement in the strut-to-arm joint. This "play" gives the alignment tech room to swivel the wheel outward slightly, thus reducing the negative camber.

Most crash bolts give .5 to 1 deg of adjustability.

"Crash" bolts are simply thinner than the stock bolts, which allows some play in the upper bolt hole where the strut connects to the hub. That means if you loosen those bolts, you can tilt the hub (ergo your rim/wheel) in and out a little bit. The degree your wheel is tilted in or out is called camber. They're called "Crash" bolts because if you crashed your car, they would give a shop some leeway in trying to get things re-aligned.

Check out this thread, good primer:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25001

So, you've lowered the car with sportline springs, and purchased some XXR rims, 8.75 width, offset +35. With stock front camber, even when lowered, that width and offset may poke just a wee bit. To get them even or slightly tuck under your fender, camber bolts will allow you to push them (negative camber) just enough to get rid of the 'poke'.

What degree of camber would I do? And will the alignment shop do this?

Let's back up slightly, I don't want to talk you into anything you may not need:

1) Do you like how your tires are currently or do you think they poke too much?

2) What size/offset rims do you have?

Ok then, looks wise you may not need to change camber.

Alignment wise however, it's still not a bad idea to have camber bolts or crash bolts added up front during alignment - these cars are notorious for having very 'loose' specs on factory alignment when it comes to camber. Left and right front camber settings may be significantly different - not a huge deal but a lot of people use camber bolts to get them even when they get their cars aligned. Also the car's cornering ability will improve with a little negative camber on both sides, something between -1 and -1.5 degrees negative camber can improve things noticably. Your call.

And 1 degree won't kill the tires correct?

You need more than 2 degrees of camber to have significant uneven wear, which doesn't reduce tread life. What kills tires is bad Toe alignment, which is the main reason you need an alignment every time ride height or camber is adjusted; because they change your Toe.

Toe is simply how straight your tires point.

Anybody do 18x8.75 +35 on sportlines with 235/40 tire? Just wondering if the camber would need to be adjusted. I'm between the pro kit and sportlines. I know superbee has 245/40 on pro kit just figured with a little less tire it would leave room for a slightly bigger drop.
