Unlike you, I have chosen a setup that isnt themed around the sole purpose of looking good. If looking good was all i cared about, I wouldn't have bought an FRS just to put my ISF motor in it.

Have fun waiting for your the perfect moment, and best of luck when it finally comes...
I'll believe it when I see it... G/L

EDIT:
I skipped over the "Unlike you, I have chosen a setup" part. All I have to say is look around the forums before posting up a bunch of ignorant BS. The setup I have chosen is full function before form. It just so happens that it looks killer while doing it. And it's also the "go to" size/width/offset for these cars. They were designed at the factory for handling and came with a non-staggered wheel/tire combo. That is the purpose of my build: handling.

Obviously you're going for drag and that's great and all. But don't try to justify all of your choices by saying they're the best for the purpose you're building for. No one who is serious about quarter mile passes would have bought 9.5" rims for the front AND rear. You would have bought skinnies if that's the only thing that mattered. So I say again, it's the typical stretched out crap on the front. Posts just like the one above mine are proof that a lot of FT86 owners like this "style" and it's just plain idiotic.

To address your comment about your rear tires, your 285's are going to need TONS of neg camber if they are ever going to actually fit up in the wheel well. But maybe that was never your intention...?

As far as the IS-F motor goes, as I said before, G/L with that. I hope you yourself or someone around you is a very talented individual. It's a monumental task to get all of the stock FR-S electronics to interface with the stock IS-F ecu, not to mention tuning the IS-F motor.

I am trying to decide on 225/45 vs 225/40 on a 9in wide wheel. Apparently 225/45 is a stretch on even a 9in wheel but seems like you're fine on a 9.5in wheel

is there enough room there to drop the car 1.5" with a 225/45/18 tire?
It depends on wheel offset on the 9inch wide wheel. Although, you should be able to fit a 245/35.

I currently am tucking 18x9.5 +35 with 235/35's, and I don't rub at all. John has 18x9.5 +35 with 255/35's with a mild drop and also doesn't really rub.

Speed sensor issue revolves around the disrepency between the tire height of the front and rear tires. If the difference is too large, car throws the code P0500 and goes into limp mode.

I think there is enough room for something a little more than a 1" drop. Ill really have to look at it more to know for sure.

Just to explain/inform.

1. I didn't buy 9.5"s for the front and rear. The front rims are actually 7.5''s but haven't come in yet. I finally got the 9.5"s after waiting over 2.5 months and decided to put them on while im still waiting for the fronts. After going through a few situations at Tx2k with my ISF, I decided to have two sets of DRs for this years trip.

2. The car will never see skinnies in the front as the car is being setup for roll racing. Tried it before, and just not a fan of skinnies on the street.

3. The 285s will tuck fine once I roll the fenders as the poke is actually pretty minimal.

4. Check out my thread located in my sig for info on the ISF motor. Im not going to be integrating the FRS electronics when the motor goes in. Drivetrain will be controlled by the PRO-efi, so no ISF ECM for the build. I could write for days about the R&D thats gone into the motor alone, but ill just say that tuning the motor is no longer an issue.

Fair enough on all accounts.

Just barely above tire in the rear, and tucking 1/4 of the tire in the front? I didn't really measure my height.. Just set it to where I wanted it and called it a day..
