Will it make the same difference as a complete oil cooler? Or if we still wanna track our cars should just go down the oil cooler root?

Basically the same difference, with none of the drawbacks of air-oil coolers. Might not cool as much at higher speeds/temps, but the oil temps just need regulating more than anything else with this car, not super-cooling unless you are running FI and constant track days.

As mentioned before, not only the BRZ STI concept, but other stock models that both Toyota and Subaru have run at track events or test drive events have had the OEM Subaru oil coolers installed.

I took a lot of photos, but theres not much to see unless you can order all the parts and have them sitting on a counter to take photos of off the car.

So I haven't investigated this myself very thoroughly, so correct me if I'm off-base here, but is there a specific reason why you can't route the coolant the same way the Cusco kit does?

Oh, looks like it's because the Cusco routing won't function as an oil warmer because coolant won't flow until the thermostat opens. Carry on.

Talked to sales after work yesterday, they sold the last FXT over the weekend. As soon as another one gets in I will be looking it over.

The BRZ and FXT upper oil pan housings are different. On the BRZ you can see where a block off plug is installed in place of the oil cooler nipple. According to the parts catalog you cannot buy that nipple separately from the upper oil pan assembly, so a little more research is needed once I can compare the two side-by-side.

It definitely is do-able, though.

I ordered that plug yesterday so I can get the thread measurements and start looking for a nippled version of that plug in the aftermarket. I also put together a small parts lost to start with but I'm still not certain how to route all the coolant lines.

Cool, hopefully you find something easily.

I am looking over the coolant flow charts to see where we can get a source of pre-thermostat flow to feed the cooler if a fitting cannot be sourced.

I went ahead and ordered the oil cooler and it's parts along with a plug myself so I can measure it and try to source something locally.
Once the cooler and pieces come in I will get working on what we need to do.

Alright, this is what I found for the coolant plug fitting.

Its a 14mm 1.5 thread pitch plug. I have an adapter from that to NPT to a 1/2" hose.

14050AA990 is the heater pipe on the Forester that has a secondary nipple for the oil cooler. I probably wont be buying it though because its expensive (like $60) and might not even fit correctly...

I figured what the hell on the water pipe, if it looks like it won't come close to fitting i won't remove it from the bag and will have my parts manager return it.

I spoke with her when I placed the order and she told me anything I don't need that I haven't opened she can put on a return to subaru.

If everything goes to plan I should have the oil cooler on tomorrow evening.

Well, if you come up with an OEM parts list. I am happy to order through your work due to the efforts made.
Others may be the same, so your manager should be all good either ways.
