When lowering 2 inches or more...
I see more people lowering their cars 2 inches and beyond, and an wondering what other components are going to need to be replaced to get a decent alignment?
At that height, rear camber will be fairly extreme, so will need rear LCA to pull that back. I also imagine the stock toe arm won't have that much adjustment, so will need to replace that. At the front, camber won't be affected, so am thinking the whiteline balljoint/tie rod end is a quick fix; however would you be better to go front lca? Interested to hear what those at this height have done. Thanks |

I'm lowered 4.5" and after adding lca's my toe maxed out. I only have -4 in the rear and already have my toe off.

When dropped 2", you're new camber will be approx -1deg front, -2 deg rear.
Front: coilover camber plates give you +/-2deg camber adjustability, crash bolts ~1deg, and stock toe adjustment can handle this drop without mod. Rear: stock toe adjustment, but no stock or coilover camber adjustment, so you'll need bushings or LCAs. The SPC LCAs come with rear toe bushings, but you shouldn't need them for 2" or less drop. FYI, I recommend LCAs over bushings, because if you include cost of a shop using a press to swap bushings, it costs the same as some LCAs; which you can install yourself and easily swap back to stock. Great video detailing rear LCA installation and alignment. [ame]http://youtu.be/pQ5fCjMIfjI[/ame] |
