OBD Adapter and Torque Pro app

Good to see you guys last night!
Out were:
FRS_Ken, KingGeo, Slick, Pbrown, Qsig

Here is the info on the Torque Pro app and OBD adapter I was talking about last night. Total of just under $18 for both, including shipping.

Torque Pro app (Android)
  • Allows you to see other engine parameters including oil temperature
  • View additional gauges on your device screen
  • 0-60 mph times, 1/4 mile, HP and torque
  • Scan engine codes and reset
  • Video Recorder with gauge overlay (will be cool at the track)
  • Monitor knock (free Knock Detector plugin)
  • Allows you to data log any available info and graph
Torque Pro $4.95 on Google Play store (only on Android afaik, maybe something similar for iPhones?)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en

OBD2 adapter
Here is the one I purchased, it's a mini so it doesn't protrude down and hit your leg/knee.
Great vendor, I had the adapter in under 2 weeks.

So was getting the Nokian Hakka R2 but they didn't have them even though I order them. They have 215/45/17 WGR2s which I'll be getting.

Do you think I'll be fine with those or should get the Hakka R2s?

The WR G2 is a decent tire, and leans a little more towards winter use than your average all season tire. They work great on my wife's Acura, but it is all wheel drive. For the FR-S, I'd recommend a full-on ice and snow tire. I have a set of the Blizzak WS-60s (predecessor to the WS-70), and they clawed through some pretty significant snowfalls last year, no sweat.

@normancw I have the Magnaflow on my car, and like it. You can definitely hear it, but it is not loud at all. There is no droning on the highway, and it makes nice little burble and grrr sounds when you get off the gas or pull a shift. Sporty, not ricey.

I picked up some Hakka R2 at KalTires on Thursday. Not sure if they have any left. But their Nokian shelf was looking rather full.

Hope they work as good as they look.

What about General Tire Altimax winter tires? That's what I have for my Yaris and they worked really well last winter - they have a high rating on tirerack

I had a set of Yokohama Ice Guard IG52C tires installed on my FR-S last week and have been experiencing some serious traction issues on wet surfaces. It is almost impossible to accelerate from a stop or get on the gas in a turn without lighting up the traction control...and I am not talking about spirited driving here. I haven't the slightest idea how relatively crappy factory tires could outperform new winter tires in wet conditions!? I'm hoping the fact that they are brand spanking new might be a factor. Will be contacting the vendor next week to get his thoughts.
