Wow, this build still continues to get better and better! I really like your new fenders and imo they give the car a more race look opposed to a ricer one. I know you stated that they're not wide but did you however happen to notice if they were lighter than the stock fenders or could you hardly even feel any difference? Was fitment spot on given they were custom made? Also what material are they made from? Sorry if these were already answered.

The fenders are genuine a INGs+ product, so fitment is pretty spot on apart from one or two small issues(you have to file/round off some corners to fit the plastics in). They are lighter than stock which is a BONUS as I don't require the fender vent(86 badge). The material the fender is made out of is called "FRP" The fenders really set the car off imho, but BEST OF ALL... the vents are FUNCTIONAL!! ![]() Car was on a dyno a couple of days ago, and you could actually feel the warm air escaping from the smaller side vents, also with the large side vent too. I will no doubt utilise the side vent with my HKS Oil Cooler when that arrives(vent will allow air to pass from the front and through to exit the large side fender vent). |

Some late night modding(as usual) and some stuff I ordered
I borrowed a dremel off a buddy of mine to finish off those dodgey speed/duct holes I cut into the front bumper on Tuesday. This tool is FANTASTIC. I'm thinking of buying one.. hmmm
Anyway, I cut a slit on one of the tow hook fascias I bought a couple of weeks ago(its black) and I used the dremel to file/grind off the shape of the 3x speed holes. Will most probably try to make the holes alot neater once I take the front bumper off(when the HKS Oil Cooler arrives). Some pics ![]() ![]() Also, I ordered a BLACK one of this: ![]() And also ordered the DRY(non oiled) OEM Panel Filter from AVO Turboworld. Only reason is that I will be most likely try a RE-TUNE with the stock airbox/AVO Filter and Perrin Silicon Intake and HKS CAI + ducting holes. I was informed by the tuner that the accordion section(red part) of the TRD USA airbox causes turbulence, and the majority of the air travels on/near the walls of the tubing. I am also looking to get some "Okada" coil packs as the car has thrown a "P0351" error code - Cylinder #1 coilpack. Was told that it might be caused by the tune running too rich, and not enough spark. |

Thanks! I was actually wondering how it would look with the holes you have on the front bumper but it's not half bad.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370871064...84.m1439.l2649 btw, did you pay +160 dollars for shipping that battery tray kit? O, have you thought about the eCharger? Quite a fat torque curve and bugger all weight, you could be the first RHD to get one. Last edited by s2d4; 10-27-2013 at 04:37 AM. |

HKS Oil Cooler Arrived
Found this waiting for me inside the garage. Quite a comprehensive bit of kit. Although some ENGLISH instructions would help. I think I may need to get some brackets fabbed up or something. If its too hard I'll take it to a workshop to get it done. Some pics..

Ordered some Okada's
Okada Plasma Direct Coil packs ordered. I keep getting a pesky P0351 CEL code on my car ever since the tune. It *could* be a direct result of the tune or could be just a fluke occurring fault that just happened to occur after the tune. Either way I'll be upgrading them so not gonna bother with warranty on that part.
CEL fault does not occur during hard driving in the evening - when the weather is cooler, but happens on hard driving during the day(it is spring/summer here atm). Here is Okada Coil Pack website: http://www.okadaprojects.com/p_pd_86_brz.html ![]() About $1000 AUD if anyone was wondering. |

Perrin Silicon Intake tubing arrived
Got these on Monday. Still waiting for the AVO panel filter to arrive. It's been almost 2 weeks.. AVO are located on the east cost, I am located in Perth.
Almost 2 weeks to send something across Australia.. ridiculous. Some piccies as usual. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also ordered and paid for some electrical related goodies from Jesse Streeter I'm hoping these will alleviate the P0351 Check Engine Light code whenever I let off a WOT in 3rd gear. ![]()

Pimp My Ride
AVO Filter arrived this morning(yesterday) and since I had the Perrin Si Intake tube I decided to go buy some GOLD Heat Wrap. These will apparently reflect up to 80% of heat.. or so they say. At any rate it makes the stock airbox and my Perrin Si pop out.
You'll also notice that I removed the H-Resonator box attached to the stock air box. I used my ingenuity and shoved a tapered rubber stopper in there, perfect fit, very tight. Did not even have to screw it down, it sits FLUSH. Went for a test drive 30mins ago, strangely enough there is less rasp. But this could be due in turn to the car NOT being tuned for this system of air intake/air filter. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh yeah, got banned from the local 86/BRZ club here in Perth all because this immature kid can't handle taking good financial advice. He's bought a car on finance, spent well over $15,000 modifying it and now has to sell it off otherwise he can't make his repayments.. oh and the icing on the cake is that he'll lose his license come December tobesure tobesureI'm pretty sure his rich divorced mommy will bail him out. More deets on my FB page.. which is pretty much a SHRINE/bookmark of links of stuff to get for my car: http://www.facebook.com/Perth86 |
